Location - great location, walking distance from many restaurants. Staff - so warm and helpful, they helped us organise a safari tour for a good price. We enjoyed complimentary tea and cake on our balcony every morning, and they gave us plenty of bottled water when we asked. Room - spacious, soft but comfortable bed. Bathroom was really clean and modern compared to some in India. Plenty of taxis just outside if you need onward travel at short notice. Note there is no laundry available but there are some on the street (we didn't use though). I would highly recommend The Elms!

Beautiful architecture, lovely garden and common areas. The staff is very kind and polite, the traditional breakfast delicious. Plenty of hot water and very clean. Located just a couple of hundred meters away from the Periyar Wildlife Reserve parking and ticketing window. Two small homestyle eateries, one of either side, less than two minutes’ walk and both serve delicious local food. Even spotted a hornbill and a malabar giant squirrel up close on the tree next to the upper balcony where our room was!!!

The host and his wife were both really lovely and helped us book the Rafting experience we wanted to do along with a Jeep Safari. The room we stayed in was also exceptionally clean and cosy and the location was close to anything you would need. Overall, really good stay

There was plenty of variety to choose from in the buffet breakfast on both days that we stayed at Shiny Spices Homes. We had a good view of hills and picturesque tea gardens from our room. The host Mr Alan, was very kind and very helpful who arranged for buckets of hot water, our cabs for pick up, sight seeing, as well as drop off.

They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 10am. We got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there.

Very beautiful place. It is a good and safe hotel for couples and families to stay and enjoy. Very responsible and friendly staffs .Very clean rooms and delicious food. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in.😊😊

The location of the home stay was excellent...close to all the places you can visit. The host Ramakrishna and his wife Rani was very accomodating and pleasant. We enjoyed staying in the lap of nature . My kid would spot wild buffalos and bisons all day and night and it made him very curious about wildlife. Overall we had a great time.. There is also a beautiful and rare rudraksh tree growing in the property...
