Located in Rhayader, Penralley House is a luxury B&B in a historic Grade II listed building with many original features. It offers en suite accommodation and a large garden with fantastic views towards the Elan Valley. Free WiFi is available in public areas.

Steve was a wonderful host. We so enjoyed talking with him. He obviously works hard to maintain the high quality of every aspect of this lovely B&B. The room was lovely and comfortable, especially the modern bathroom and its great shower. There’s a lovely lawn and gardens in back of this beautiful old house that guests can enjoy. The walk to town and restaurants and cafes was easy. We did the Elan Valley driving tour and discovered and new, to us, stunning area of Wales. We hope to come back some day.

The Bear offers eco-friendly accommodation in the centre of Rhayader, Mid Wales. The Bear offers secure storage for cycles.

Each room comes with a flat-screen TV. All rooms include a private bathroom. A TV is offered.

The facilities in the room were excellent as was the breakfast room. All clean and well looked after. I would suggest that the facilities we used had been refurbished to a high standard in the last two or three years, and well looked after since then. Siân, our host, was very cheerful and nothing was too much trouble.

In the old town area, just 5 minutes’ walk from the River Wye, this 200-year-old Welsh stone building is rich in original character and traditional charm, with wood beams and exposed stonework.

With original 18th-century timbers and a log fire, the lounges are furnished with deep comfortable chairs. The Horseshoe has been recently refurbished and now combines modern comforts and facilities with this lovely old building’s historic character. The rooms are decorated in a traditional country style and each room has tea/coffee making facilities, modern central heating and a flat-screen TV.

Comfortable, friendly and clean, with a really good Full English cooked breakfast included. Despite being just a couple of minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants, the location is totally quiet at night, and the rooms are spacious. Very helpful hosts

Very nice room. Small but very practical. Everything very clean. Helpful, friendly staff. Good beer and the fish & chips were exceptionally good. The beer tasted very good and the atmosphere in the pub was very good. Sure that evening Wales won against England in rugby. Thanks for the great experience.

Jill and Richard were perfectly nice and welcoming; the property was very quiet and private; you have lots of space here; there is lots of light; the charming, moderately-sized garden is a pleasant place to sit out; parking is available if you have a small car that you can manoeuvre skilfully through a Very narrow passage; the heating system is simple and wonderfully efficient; the kitchen is well-stocked with essential equipment if you want to cook for yourself; and the shops and pubs are of course within a stones throw.
