The welcome and conviviality of the host was excellent. Typical continental breakfast was served. There is a super pizzeria just around the corner. The location is an easy and well signposted ten minutes from the ferry port where I was heading. The only slight moan is that the property is a little hard to find as it does not appear on gps. The reason is that it is set behind the house with the same street number. Just leave 'Bis' out of your search and remember the house is set back.

Miromesnil is a superb palace, conservation works have been done with great care and taste, the rooms (ours had a bedroom and a living room, both of generous size) are very comfortable. As a guest, you get in for free on the guided tour of the palace and grounds. The potager is the most beautiful thing ever. The staff could not be nicer.

Great short break in Normandy. The chateau was very atmospheric and the host could not do enough for us. Veronique was wonderful. Very quiet neighbourhood, lovely grounds. Loads of parking space. the local restaurants that were recommended by the host were first class. The whole experience was perfect.

Great location for the port but in a lovely quiet location - the family room is huge with a separate bedroom for the kids. The indoor pool was very welcome after a long drive from Bordeaux. Breakfast is delicious!
