Excellent value for money, comfy beds and super friendly staff. My room was quiet despite being street facing, everything was spotless and good water pressure in the shower. Easy to travel to Switzerland on the regular bus service which stops a few minutes away or the train. Would definitely stay again!

The checkin was simple and the host was so accomodating. I booked this last minute and it was a nice stay. The street noise disappears around 10pm and I closed the windows and slept well in a room with windows facing the street.

Lovely staff, lovely place. I chose it because it was the cheapest option with a private bathroom I could find in Pratteln - turns out it was a good choice. The lady at the check in was very nice and helpful. The place is beautiful, with gorgeous flowers at the windows outside. The hallway going to the room looks pretty and cozy. The room was wonderful - clean, practical and tastefully decorated. There's a safe deposit box, a mini fridge if you need to store fruit or something, a cosmetic mirror in the bathroom. The WiFi was excellent and you had the possibility to charge your devices via USB or power outlet right next to the bed. There's a busy street outside, but the window does a good job of keeping the noise out when you close it. It's pretty close to the Z7, which is very convenient if you want to see a concert there. Pretty close to a couple of stores. There's also some kind of chocolate factory nearby, so the air in the area smells like chocolate at times (tip: there's nice chocolate at a very good price to be found at the factory store). Maybe not the best location for other purposes like sightseeing though.

Truly incredible breakfast, can't be overstated. Welcoming and lovely host with great tips. I mentioned briefly I was interested in a short nature walk - got instructions (a hand drawn map!!) how to reach a nearby viewing location where I saw the Alps, beautiful. Also easy location for starting off your day at the Foundation Beyeler - bus goes often and nearby. Returning is easy as well - on demand night bus in the evening, parked at the last stop of the normal bus. Told driver the address and got off right outside the door to the B&B. Booking here also gives you a BaselCard - 50% discount on many museums, activities in Basel.

Great location - 10 minutes away from the train station, nice and cozy atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Definetly the number 1 place to go for me in Pratteln!

Excellent location. Very nice and helpful host, respectful to the traveler's privacy. Exquisitely furnished room that was shiny new and clean. Exceptionally quiet place. Continental breakfast from Swiss products was wonderful. I would happily come again and I would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to explore Basel and the area, do some nice hiking, or go to the concert at Z7 concert hall.

If I only had one word to describe Chez Jean and Daisy, it would be: Magical. This bed and breakfast in a sleepy hamlet outside of Basel near the German border is nothing short of a treasure. Everything in the house is steeped in history, charm, and beauty. Immediately upon walking in the gate to the property, you are greeted with an elegant garden. At the door, the wise and wonderful Jean embraces you with a larger-than-life personality. Daisy, with her warmth and loveliness, becomes no stranger too. The breakfast is served downstairs in the shadow of a ticking clock that has more character than a Victor Hugo novel. The bread is homemade and deliciously unique.

Very friendly staff and the single room is not big but bright, comfortable and sufficient for one person. Breakfast is excellent and restaurant too.
