Boasting free bikes and views of city, Origo Leilighetshotell- Øvre Storgate 5 is a recently renovated aparthotel set in Drammen, 43 km from Oslo Central Station. This apartment-hotel is in the "old town" part of Drammen, more charming and more restaurants compared to the other side of the river (based on my observation and the comments from my colleagues who were staying in hotels on the other side of the river). The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. Espresso machine worked well - more capsules available at the supermarket across the road. Bathroom well stocked with hand wash and lotion, shampoo/body wash and conditioner. Loved having the washing machine - there was a drying rack and things dried quickly overnight. Bed was very comfy and so was the couch in the living room. Easy to cast from your phone to the TV for apps like Youtube and I believe there was also Netflix. Lovely view of the Bragernes church tower from the window (I was on the top floor). Elin provided quick assistance when asked via the Bookings.com app. Easy to get into the building with the app (download Upkey before your stay....instructions to do this came while I was travelling and it was difficult to download on the move) or a provided keycard and into the apartment with a short number. Short walk over the bridge to the train station - note there is an elevator on the train station side but you have to look for it behind the staircase, and no stairs on the hotel side of the river. Wifi worked very well, in fact better than the office I was working at during the week. Coworker had an even nicer room across the hall from me.

Situated in Geilo in the Buskerud region, Bjørkli Lodge has a garden. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Alina is the best host we have ever had in all our travels. She is very friendly and got along with our little boy so well. The Lodge is well maintained and very homely. Alina even let us use her sledge and it was an amazing experience for my son who experienced his first snow with her. The location of the property is amazing with breathtaking views. And we also loved Lulu (her Norwegian cat).

Boasting a bar, Wex Hotels is set in Fredrikstad in the Østfold region, 3.4 km from The Old Town and 36 km from Fredriksten Fortress. We had a corner apartment with nice light and gentle cross breezes to keep air circulating. All the furniture was comfortable. The kitchen had almost everything we needed. It’s so nice to have a place that feels like home rather than a traditional hotel, there’s so much more room. Many restaurants, bakeries and stores just steps away. Close to the bus station.

Boasting an open-air bath and views of inner courtyard, Det Gamle Meieriet is an apartment set in a historic building in Vidnes, 43 km from The Old Town. One of the highlights of my trip. Wonderful apartment, lovely facilities and absolutely spectacular host. Per Christian and his daughter were warm and welcoming, we shared drinks and stories and I had an all round great time. Would highly recommend!

Boasting garden views, Fjøset på Knardal features accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 32 km from Akershus Fortress. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation offers a patio. The host was a sweetheart and incredibly welcoming. She left us a typical dish and she made the table for us for dinner, as well as leaving the slippers for all of us. The house was clean, comfortable and it felt like being in grandmother house. A truly heartwarming Norwegian experience! We wish we stayed longer!!

Ormåsen loft is a small private accommodation in Ormåsen. The property boasts views of the garden is 21 km from Drammen. cosy and comfortable beds; clean and neat loft which is spacious and well equipped; lovely environment; and friendly host.

Hesla Farm Pensjonat is situated just 300 metres from the centre of Gol. Golsfjellet ski centre is 20 km away while Hemdal ski centre is 25 km away. Free private parking is available on site. Very authentic and coasy cottages. Great handmade breakfast with really friendly staff. Ideal for a stay with children

Skarmyra Apartment offers accommodation in Moss, a 5-minute walk from the main street, Dronningens Gate. Oslo is within 45 minutes' drive. I had a wonderful experience with the apartment! A spacious and clean place combined with a convenient location near beaches made it a fantastic stay. The host was responsive, clear in instruction giving us the impression of a warm welcome, despite not being physically present. I will love to book this place again if I am in Moss again.
