This is the hidden gem of Ella. If you’re trying to get away from the noise/touristy part of this city, 49 Ella is a dream. I almost didn’t want to write this because I know how special this property is but incredible WiFi, great AC, overlooking the mountains, you can see the train over the hills. The birds chirp in the morning and the sunrises are special. I don’t have words for how amazing this place is. A little outside of town, but less than $2 US to get into town. Worth it.

Honestly, one of the best places we had in Sri Lanka during our one month travelling. Trully recommend!

We cannot say enough about the hosts and this property! The hosts (Tissa and his family) were caring, attentive, and warm. We ordered breakfast each morning and it exceeded our expectations. The hosts offer a variety of services that we did not take advantage of (such as scooter rentals). We did book a massage and were happy with the process and service. The property is a private cottage down a steep slope with an incredible view and only a short walk (10 minutes depending on your pace) from the shops and restaurants in Ella. We enjoyed the sounds of nature rather than the town--perfect!! Due to its location, it is not accessible for everyone. In that case, consider the hosts other property up on the road Tree Cool.

Everything was very nice, there was a good breakfast, a nice room and a perfect balcony view. I thank the host for being helpful, friendly and hospitable.

This is an idyllic little retreat tucked away from the main thoroughfare. A lovely cabin which feels like it's immersed in the jungle, with views through the trees of the surrounding countryside and the sounds of the birds. The host is very friendly and provides a delicious breakfast and knowledge of the area. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Our stay in Ella was serene. The owner is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. His English and communication was awesome. He provided an amazing personalised breakfast that had ingredients bought locally and cooked deliciously. The view from the balcony was stunning overlooking the jungle and valley below. Beautiful sitting out on the comfortable furniture for sunset and watching the beautiful monkeys and birds doing their business. It was close enough that we were able to walk to Ella rock for sunrise, which was beautiful. Thanks for having us would definitely recommend and would stay again.

The Creek Villa ella, que cuenta con vistas a la montaña, dispone de alojamiento con balcón y hervidor a unos 49 km de Hakgala Botanical Garden. Susan was really welcoming and friendly. He shared good tips on where to eat and get laundry done, became our tuk tuk driver while we were in Ella and offered a lovely breakfast service for a small extra charge. The view is so gorgeous and he helped carry our backpacks up to the room.
