Grotta Barisano was the highlight of our short stay in Matera. It is a very authentic place, beautifully restored and furnished with taste. We also could not ask for a better host - Emanuele was amazing: from giving us a proper introduction to Sassi and the Grotta to offering us a bottle of wine and complimentary italian breakfast at the bar just in front of the grotto. If we come back to Matera - we will definitely stay again and Grotta Barisano. Thank you, Emanuele.

All newly renovated two years ago according to Per. Super clean everything, cozy place and beautiful. The bed very comfortable and the shower excellent in one word. Quick to heat and powerful. Light snacks in the fridge, water and yogurt. Coffee and cocoa. Good heat in the room which is good for this time of year. Air conditioning in addition. Everything is so beautifully finished and tidy. Great location in beautiful Venosa. Close to all major services and restaurants everywhere. Parking directly outside the room which is on the ground floor with a direct private entrance. After a month in Italy in various places, this is my best experience so far! Per is truly a super host who takes great care of his guests and makes sure that everything is as good as possible. Delicious breakfast at a nearby cafe. Highly recommend this accommodation to everyone!

It is in the middle of the incredibly scenic town with a window facing the town church/square. The apartment is clean, cozy and recently renovated. A few months ago they added an A/C to accommodate hot summer days. In addition, there’s a great breakfast in their nearby bar/restaurant.

Matera is breathtaking.
