The host was very kind and communicative, giving clear instructions on how to find the location and how to check in. And then I did not mention the view of the town yet! We had our own personal time and felt at home. Would strongly recommend this.

The apartment is clean, cozy and recently renovated. A few months ago they added an A/C to accommodate hot summer days. In addition, there’s a great breakfast in their nearby bar/restaurant.

Offering free WiFi and mountain views, Il Nicchio is an accommodation set in Matera, just 800 metres from MUSMA Museum and 850 metres from Matera Cathedral. The apartment is absolutely beautiful! The decor is perfect for the space. From the pottery to the tiles, from the dishes to the extra touches to make this space feel like home. There was a considerate variety of fresh fruit, small pastries and coffee available for our use. There was even milk and water in the fridge, cold and ready for use. Cozy, but not small. The view from the two front windows opened up to provide a street view on the edge of the Sassi. The exposed stone ceiling combines the age old architecture into the modern design. Truly a magical place!

Absolutely perfect place in a perfect area. The view from the terrace is breathtaking! If you have some cheese, prosciutto and local primitivo, it is the best place for aperitivo! The apartment has a fantastic atmosphere of old Matera. At the same time it is nicely renovated, very clean, has a comfortable bathroom and a kitchen. So nice combination of an old cave house and modern facilities. Antonio left some water and coffee for us, that was very nice at a hot day! We loved our night there! Book this place without any doubts!
