Offering a bar and river view, Ampersand Bay Resort is set in Saranac Lake, 17 km from Lake Placid and 17 km from Lake Placid Winter Olympic Museum. We stayed at Balsam cabin and loved the charm of the place. There was ample space. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. My dad and son stayed in the other two rooms and they also were quite comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. It felt like a breath of fresh air when we walked in. It was snowing during our visit and I loved waking up to the beautiful snow-covered trees outside our window. We visited both Lake Placid and Tupper Lake and we were located centrally to both. The temperature was comfortable and it was nice to adjust the temperature for each room. The fireplace was amazing as well. We loved the kitchen and all of the dishes and utensils included.
