How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Limited parking, and very narrow to enter the alley (unsuitable for SUV). More detailed instructions to reach the normal lane entrance should have been provided in advance.
Comfy rooms, great ambience and good food at the pub.

Room could do with a full black out blinds on both windows as one bed position under the window and there is a street light situated directly outside the window shining through not great for a good night's sleep.

Could hear quite clearly the guests in next room talking. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because guests reviews said it was quiet. Seems only if it's empty. Otherwise all good

Shelf over the basin a corner unit would have been better .otherwise all good.
Staff were very helpful and friendly....bed was comfortable and room was clean but I found the room quite hot so.opened the window In Feb !!! Good location

The bathroom just provided basic facilities of shower and bathtub. Hot water needs to be waited for a while.
The hotel rooms are located at the upper floor of the pub. The staff was helpful to lead me to the room with the keys. She explained any detail of the service. The room was provided basic refreshments. An electric fan was provided in the room as well, so you will be worried with hot weather. The location is at the high street, easy to access other shops, cafe and other attractions.

Car park is quite small can struggle to get a space if pub/restaurant is busy. No long term parking nearby as alternative

Wasn't in the room for long very comfortable bed nice decor room small but all you really need didn't notice the blinds in bedroom and only closed the curtains so a bit of light shining in could of done with somewhere to put cup of tea as had to sit on bed to drink it

Decor was a bit hit and miss …ceiling was badly decorated and there was a mark in the bath that was covered with enamel paint

The access to the car park wasn't clear, I had to ask the staff in the pub as the small lane next to the pub is very narrow, it has metal bollards either side and we had to get my husband to guide me through as we we not sure our car would fit. The shower head is extremely high up, with no adjustment points if you have small children and no bath mat to stop any slipping in the shower too.
It was nice and close to Thorpe Park, clean and tidy, warm and we couldn't hear anything from the pub itself either. The bar staff were helpful when it came to parking and the car park was easy to park in, you need to go via the aldi behind if you have a wide car.

A small table by the side of the bed would have been great. Bathroom could do with being updated. Sanitary bags would be a nice touch due to the toilet system.
Easy check in process. Nice to have a selection of hot drinks and biscuits. Room was very comfortable and a good temperature. Quiet space - not disturbed by noise. Great to have parking available. Very good value for money.

Had an issue with the shower only producing hot water. The tap was broken as soon as we alerted staff they fixed it for us virtually straight away and then kept checking in to make sure everything was okay again. Great communication between staff!
Staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to fix things for us. The bar area and back garden area were very sociable and just a great relaxing environment. Room was good beds were comfy!

Got stuck in bathroom...door is terrible. Needs looking at.
Food was lovely..staff lovely. Room...good size. Fans in room..lovely as was hot day. Beer garden fab.
