Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaThe shower is not well separated from the rest of the bathroom, only with a curtain, and it gets wet all over the floor when you use it.
This is a very quiet place with a lot space and a park around, very close to transport options. It has its own huge parking. We were staying on working days and had 4 options brekafast.

United KingdomThe bed was not the best but I guess you can not have it all.
The reception staff were excellent on every level. A great deal of support available if you are a foreigner. The restaurant in the evening had good service and a wide range of food. The breakfast was good value. The hotel is the airport side of Sofia and there is an excellent public transport system into the centre of the city.

RomaniaThe size of the room is small and the outer door is thin. Sometimes you can hear people walking and talking in the common areas.
The hotel is old style, but clean and with spacious loby and restaurant areas. Advantages are the excelent location, breakfast and parking with secutity guards. Good value for money.

BulgariaLike all older hotels, there needs to be more electrical outlets. However, this room did have two extension cords with triple outlets. Be prepared to walk up 25 stairs to the rooms. They only accept cash in the form of Bulgarian Leva. But, the price of the room, and the location, make it all worthy while.
This was the 4th or 5th time I have stayed at this hotel. If you need to be near the airport (and don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel room) this is the place to stay. Early in the morning, it takes about 10 minutes by car or taxi to get to Sofia airport. The hotel was obviously build during the communist era, but the rooms have been updated (new air-conditioner/heater, updated lighting). There is a large supermarket about 500 metres to the east (Kauflands). The rooms are clean, the bathrooms have been slightly updated, but retain the traditional Bulgarian wet-room shower concept. This time we stayed in room 3, which was better than room 5 (that we stayed in last time). Just two single beds, a modern TV (which we have never used), two small side tables, a decent desk and chair, a wardrobe, and hooks to hang things on when you enter the room. The parking lot is secured at night, and there are plenty of parking places.

GreeceThe single bed of the Junior Suite is not comfortable because it's not a normal bed. I wouldn't recommend the Junior Suite for more than 2 nights.

CanadaI would suggest adding a coffee maker to the set of the equipment of the room.
It has been a very decent stay for quite a small money. Everything in the room was fresh and clean, with all appliances functional. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the location of the hotel, just ten driving minutes from the airport. I have been staying with this hotel a few times in the past and I can recommend this hotel to my friends.

BulgariaThis is an updated communist style hotel. We stayed in room 4, which is not a large room, but adequate in size. The beds are comfortable. The room was clean. We have stayed at this hotel four times, so we know exactly what to expect. The hotel is very convenient if you need to get to Sofia Airport (about a 10 minute drive away). There is a large supermarket about 500 metres to the east. There is ample parking which is guarded day and night.

BulgariaThere is no metro station in vicinity, which is my prefered method of movement around Sofia. It took me some time to find out about the other options.
This is an old fashion place, built during the socialist era, that preserved the oddities of the time it was constructed. For people who are interested in the architecture and the specifics of hospitality from that period, and for those feeling nostalgic, this is an excellent place to stay in. We have stayed there before and enjoy going back. It is comfortable, quiet, clean. Easy to reach by car. The staff is nice and helpful, The food in the restaurant is good. There is a vast parking lot and a few good shops and restaurants in the area. The location isn't very central, but if you are looking for a quiet retreat, that is not a problem. The transportation to the center is possible by trams, buses, and by car/taxi.
