We are a family of four and stayed in two adjoining rooms for 5 nights. All of us absolutely loved the hotel, to be honest it is probably our favourite hotel ever! The location is great in a safe, trendy area, full of restaurants and close to the beach. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a jaw dropping lobby. It is convenient, not too big, with a very good restaurant on the ground floor and a tapas bar/bar on the rooftop, where there is also a very nice pool, overlooking the neighbourhood and sea. The gym is on the 1st floor, with the most beautiful wooden equipment I have ever seen. The parking is on level minus one and very handy. The rooms themselves are beautiful, with details like an ornate and quirky water jar, a small but well designed desk, a balcony, a coffee machine and a well equipped mini bar and a nice balcony. Oh, and the mattresses and linen were heavenly. On top of this super nice staff and you have a recipe for what certainly is one of the leading hotels of the world, for a song!

The Alma Hotel exceeded our expectations in all regards. The hotel, our room, the staff and location were all superlative. Hidalgo and Nelson booked us with good restaurants, were so helpful with travel plans, and went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Breakfast of omelets, baked goods, fruit and coffee was generous and delicious. The Cuidad Vieja was a lovely place to stay, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and it was quiet and safe.

Am primit hartă și informații turistice, ne-au ținut bagajele la recepție pentru câteva ore și ni s-a chemat taxi de fiecare dată când am avut nevoie. It was our first visit to Uruguay and the staff on reception were so kind and helpful. They patiently and with smiles assisted in any request we had. Hotel has an excellent location near the river in the vicinity of the shopping center and some good restaurants. The room was spacious with a view on the river. Breakfast was good, as well.

The place is classic, and the service is excellent. The breakfast is complete. It is located 2 blocks from the Tres Cruces Bus station, where you can find taxis to the airport, shopping, and food outlets. If you are backpacking, you have the possibility of continuing your trip to Brazil or Argentina using long-distance buses. It serves as an excellent resting point and is well-located. The city of Montevideo is always incredible.
