It's been a while since I felt this relaxed in a hotel. I didn't have luck with hotels in Thessaloniki, to be honest. Either in terms of the price, location, or staff. Until now! First and foremost the people. They are sincerely polite and happy to see you. It's not that "professional ballroom dancer" rehearsed smile you can see in other places. They are really there to help you and make you feel welcome. So, whoever picked up this crew to run a hotel deserves a medal. Anyway, the room is very spacious. No bumping into each other. Very well decorated too. Has everything you need, including a "Marshall" Bluetooth speaker, to put some music on your own. The location is excellent. Right next to everything. Across the street, you have two of the very highly rated restaurants which I definitely recommend (I've checked out the one at the corner, and it left an everlasting impression on me). It's worth mentioning, like it usually happens in this part of the World, when you start building something there is a good chance you will run into an archeological site. When this happens, usually the investor loses his hair immediately, cause it slows down the project by years, but the Architect did an incredible thing here. The flooring of the dining room is made of glass, so while you are having breakfast you can look at the piece of Antique Greece right below you. And if you are from the States, that is, well, older than anything :) Ah, yeah. The food was great. No worries!

I love how they incorporated food from each culture and not forgetting to add Greek stuff too. I loved the koulouri and the spanokopitakia and Motion, yum 😋

The Modernist ligger i en vacker 1920-talsbyggnad i hjärtat av Thessaloniki och kombinerar klassisk elegans med avslappnad lyx. Very nice hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were compact but cosy, stylish and very clean. I liked that they promoted their own products in the bathroom and not some generic brand. The breakfast was amazing, great variety. Overall, definitely recommend it and would stay there again!
