Boutique hotel 1898 The Post offers accommodation in an iconic, historical building in the heart of Ghent. It is situated in the former post office. this hotel is simply beautiful. Very tastefully decorated, amazing cocktail bar in the evening with a sneaky entrance that gives it a speak-easy feel. The room was spacious, enormous bed, very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and service swift.

We stayed in the presidential suite and it was absolutely amazing. We were given champagne and we ordered room service for the morning breakfast and it was so good! They don't tell you that parking your car in their garage does cost extra on the website, we found out after we got there. They did take our car for us to the garage so we could go check in and not get a parking ticket since they only have 2 unloading zoned spaces in front of the hotel. They were really wonderful telling us about all the amenities and the only time we ever heard from another guest was when they were using the private lift. The food at the restaurants looks amazing, however we didn't eat there because our kids wouldn't have liked anything, but if we are ever in Ghent again on our own we will definitely book again and go to the restaurant.

The room was beyond anything I had imagined. It was spacious, clean, the bathtub was huge, the bathroom products smelled heavenly. The artwork was amazing. The hotel is walking distance to the city center and the July summer festival. The aircon was perfect and easy to customise. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Lena, Doreen, Danté, Orlande and the entire team. Bravo! 10 out of 10 in every category.

And the staff member was lovely when encountered in the morning. (and not a robot.) I don't normally leave reviews but I wish more hotels were like this!
