The location is wonderful. My husband and I were able to walk to and from all the places we visited--Russian Hill, North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square, and SOMA (South of Market Street). The hotel is charming; our room ("Premier Queen") was pretty, very comfortable with lots of space to store things, and had a nice view; the staff friendly and helpful; the complimentary FULL breakfast abundant and satisfying. We hope to eat at the hotel's newly reopened Jeanne d'Arc Restaurant when we return next year. BTW, we stayed four nights this time and have booked five for the next. NOTE: Room prices are based on size. The "Cozy Queens" are 100 sq. feet and face a side of the building. (They are similar in size and view to most of the hotel rooms we have had during our biannual stays in Paris.) The "Premier Queens" have 169 sq. feet and face either the front or back of the building. That size rooms in Paris are considerably more than what we want to pay (and they don't include even a "continental" breakfast.) Needless to say, we were very pleased and are looking forward to returning to San Francisco and the Cornell Hotel de France.

Superfriendly staff who allowed us to play cards/hang out in the dining room in the evening and also let us store our luggage on our last day as we had a late flight. Super cute with the friendly cat running around. Simple but nice with a little breakfast included. Lovely that the hotel serves coffee and tee every afternoon.

Wonderful accommodation. Aziza was so helpful, informative and kind. When we are next in San Francisco we will definitely stay at The Grove Inn again.

Very conveniently positioned, only 10 minutes drive from Golden Gate Bridge and 5 min walk from Lombard street. We got lucky and had a room with amazing views of the bay and the bridge. Very clean and safe area.

The Marina Inn, was perfect for my stay. It is not fancy but the staff were kind and friendly and the location was perfect for what I needed. This place is what it is, I loved it and would stay again.
