Family Gorenc Škantar: father Stane and mother Silva, daughter Lidija and her husband Jaroslav, grandsons Jure and Jan. When Stane's long-lasting dreams came true, that is to have a big house with enough space for family and friends, but life went a different way, and he and his wife Silva stood alone in the house. They are very sociable and have a lot of friends, and so they decided to arrange apartments in this house so that their company could sleep there after parties. Our first guests were friends and acquaintances, who share a love for nature and passion for fishing with us. Over the years the house has become a second home for a lot of people and we have become their family. In our house, there is a smell of nature, natural wood of which the furniture is made, and alpine herbs and flowers, which all the family is gathering and father Stane dry them for tea or soak in brandy. These are reasons for the name of our apartments – ALPSKI CVET (Alpine flower), upon flowers, which grows in Bohinj mountains. Flower motives are included in interior furniture so that our guests can know the richness of alpine botanical gardens. In every apartment, you will know one alpine flower

In 2019 Stane and Silva decided to take a break. Daughter Lidija, husband Jaro and sons Jure and Jan have rolled up sleeves and renovated three apartments, and in the summer first gests came. "That which is truly good for me is good for you as well." That was our guidance during the renovation of the apartments. What is important for our family, when we are rummaging through the Booking and search for housing which could be appropriate for all members of the family? My own wish is peaceful surroundings and pleasant ambient, for Jaro the price is the most important, boys the first condition is not to sleep in too small sofa bed and necessary a good wi-fi. Those are the things we had in mind when we were furnishing apartments: pleasant ambient, attractive prices, good wireless internet and a big bed for children. And luckily we weren't worried about the view, because a wonderful view on the Julian Alps and Triglav and peaceful surroundings are already there.

If you wish to spend a peaceful, but active vacation, if you are a sport fisherman, sportsman, winter or summer recreation enthusiast, hiker or mountain climber, or you just want to find some time for your own and your family, you are welcome at our home. Guests who come in Bohinjska Bistrica and stay at our home, have excellent starting-point for summer or winter sports, for hiking or mountaineering, Lake Bohinj is just 6km away and Lake Bled 21km away, to Aquapark Bohinj with saunas and swimming pools is only a five-minute walk. We are a sports family, so we can give you advice from first hand, where to go cycling, where the most beautiful mountain paths are, where to go sport fishing, skiing or cross-country skiing, swimming and sunbathing, rowing or riding a horse. We also know where good restaurants are and where you can enjoy traditional Bohinj food. In the vicinity are shops, restaurants, post office, bank, health centre, railway, bus stop and road to Bovec and Soča valley.
