Rome is full of history! We might be just outside the old walls but the Italian history of the XIX and XXth century sorrounds us with its beauty and stateliness. From the Quartiere Coppedè, where art Decò and the early '900 architecture join forces to erect eclectic buildings to Villa Torlonia, home to the Italian Duce Mussolini. Walking down Via Nomentana you can reach the monumental complex of Santa Agnese fuori le mura, where alongside the remains of the ancient Costantinian Basilic you can visit the early christians catacombs. Just few bus stops going towards the city centre there it is; Porta Pia! The famous city gate, attacked by the italian forces that conquered Rome from the Pope in the year 1870.
