Situated in Johannesburg, 2.3 km from Parkview Golf Club, Explorer Backpackers features accommodation with free bikes, private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. the hostel as well as the Dorm were very clean. It is a safe area and many restaurants/coffee places are within walking distance. Super friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Authentic African Bicycle Tours and Back Packers is situated in Soweto, 2 km from Orlando Stadium. The property has a garden with thatched roof and barbecue facilities. Traveling for the first time into this part of "historical" South Africa and after hearing about the negative stuff, I wasn't sure how it will be, but "Lungi" made it a "smooth" ride. He knows many people around and will help you out in getting rid of the negative perceptions/stereotypes you have about this place. He can also spontaneously organize tours and guide you in showing different places around Jo'burg/Soweto. After staying here, I can say that staying here was better than in staying in Jo'burg. The room & the toilets are clean...and no mosquitoes (at least inside the room). So, it was a learning & a great stay! :)

Very good accomodation in Soweto, very nice staff, typical "hostel" atmosphere, nice dinner/breakfast, and amazing 4-hour bike tour of Soweto with Siya. Thanks!!!

The staff was friendly and extremely attentive. I was happy to receive a room upgrade when I arrived. The location was in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was great hanging out by the pool chatting with the other guest. I would certainly return and highly recommend this establishment.

Stay Inn Lodge Randfontein is situated in Randfontein, within 38 km of Cradle of Humankind and 38 km of Gold Reef City Casino. Everything was fine the room was clean too.

Set in Johannesburg, 3.1 km from Parkview Golf Club, Melville House offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. I stayed 7 days at the Melville House and felt like its a hostel that really understands community and sharing. Staff was great, talkative and helpful. Other guests staying there were mingling and cool. I met local students looking for long term accomodation, long term travellers stopping by in Johannesburg and I myself was on workation - which was great in my private room that had an amazing comfortable bed and i had my own bathroom. The shared spaces were a place to meet the others and the surrounding is relatively save for Joburg standards so that I could even go for walks and jogg in the morning. Loved it!

Rosebank Hostel is situated in the Rosebank district in Johannesburg, 1 km from Rosebank Mall and 1.7 km from Hyde Park Shopping Centre. Rosebank Hostel features free WiFi. Honestly, I don't understand the reviews here. I was expecting something horrible, but it's actually a nice hostel. I liked this: Room: clean, good bed Staff: everyone friendly Location: Fantastic, in a safe area (Rosebank), near Gautrain station (easy connection to Sandton, Airport, Pretoria, and so on). Less than 5 minutes walk to 24/7 grocery store. Near is a coffee shop and in a walkable distance is Rosebank mall (restaurants, shops). Shower: clean, hot water Laundry service: cheap, fast.
