It was near everything that I needed to be and it was very easy to get around, the room and the bed was very clean and fresh. I got there almost at midnight and I had difficulties getting in to the room, needless to say it was me not correctly following the instructions provided, I called and the person in charge was very polite and walked me through and guided me to get in my room even it was very late.
Great value for money, cheaper than the local hostel. Good location, comfortable, clean.
The location was fantastic, right in the middle of Lincoln Park. It felt very safe to walk around nearby. Extra toiletries at the hostel were overpriced, but there is a Walgreens within a 5 minute walk that has any snacks and toiletries you might need. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and even told me which train they recommended to get to an event I was planning on going to one night. Although I didn’t use it, the industrial kitchen seemed to have plenty of space and storage.
best hostel I've ever stayed in
For me the best hostel I have been. Comfortable, great facilities, the rooms are not smalls and nice decoration. I would definitely chose this hostel if I come back to Chicago
Perfect location, comfortable and safe as well as great value for money! Always enjoy my stay with HI hostels.
Safe, clean and pleasant. Lovely staff and great location
Gorgeous Patio! Don't expect any breathtaking views, but expect a great patio to eat your lunch/breakfast and hang out with other guests! Hostel has quiet hours and is not generally a party hub. Guests were all very respectful. The hostel has a very strong college dormitory vibe to it. Making it easy to meet new people and make friends. Great for a solo traveler. The average age of guests was pretty well under 30, but there were some travelers over 30 as well. Free Breakfast on weekends!
Beautiful situated and close to trams and the lake. Friendly staff and vibrant feel. But also bit worn down. Beds are to soft and uncomfy. It was more a budget family place than a hostel with a lot of small children. Not a bad thing but not really what we were expecting. Breakfast was humble but can get you on your way. No real healthy options. But there is a community kitchen and fridge to store some cheese or other things for breakkie Chicago is expensive and this place was on the cheaper side so you cant expect golden halls
The location, rooms and amenities here cannot be beat, especially for the price. I was only in town for a night, traveling alone, and on a budget, so it was perfect for my needs. As a veteran backpacker who's aged out of the youth hostel scene, this was ideal way to spend time in the city, get a decent night's sleep and meet some cool people.
