Situated in Porto Santo, 300 metres from Ponta da Calheta Beach, Porto Santo Destination features accommodation with a garden, private parking and a shared lounge. I had an amazing time staying in Porto Santo Destination hostel! It was so calm and quiet, perfect space to wind down and especially during low season you get the ultimate perk of having basically no people at the beaches ;) Sofia the host was super friendly and helpful... couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Nice kitchen and facilities! Just keep in mind that you have to do groceries etc in the centre, as there's only a small restaurant around (which is cheap and good though). And it's a different island than Madeira itself, not everyone may know this ;)

Set in São Vicente and with Sao Vicente Beach reachable within 1.7 km, The Waves Hostel offers a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. Fantastic hosts - I only met Celio and not Jerry, but Celio was so kind and welcoming. I arrived late at night and he stayed up to welcome me, gave me a free beer after an exhausting day, and we had a lovely chat. The location is beautiful - right on the sea front and the sound of the waves coming in and out is really soothing. Celio also provided a lot of free breakfast foods which was very much appreciated, and one can eat out on the terrace by the waves in the sun. The parking is right near the property, which is helpful, and the town of Sao Vicente is only less than five minutes' drive away, and has a supermarket, restaurants, etc. Wifi was good, room was comfortable and well-proportioned (for one guest at least), and the price is unbeatable! Again, I can't overstate (i) the relaxing sound of the waves, and (ii) how great a host Celio is. Thank you Celio!

Boasting a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Jaca Hostel Porto da Cruz is set in Porto da Cruz, 100 metres from Alagoa Beach and 100 metres from Maiata Beach. Really homey and super welcoming. Loved the other guests and also the staff/volunteers. Great location for more adventure-y sport/activities. Burger/Pizza nights really let you meet other people as well as locals. Also really clean.

Other than the great location and the comfortable place, Ruben offers alot of very good tips whether it's hikes, food, restaurants, and even gift ideas! A great host

Rebecca, Francesco and [forgot name😬] are lovely hosts! Dune Coliving consists of two very nice houses, a beautiful garden and direct beach access. I can highly recommend this place!

29 Madeira Hostel set in the centre of Funchal, Madeira Island. The property offers budget accommodation in dormitories and private rooms. Loved this place, very homely feel right in the heart of Funchal. The ladies who run the place were lovely and very helpful. Felt right at home as a 23 year old solo traveller. Definitely will return in the future.

Located within a traditional and historical building in Funchal old town, Santa Maria Hostel is a boutique hostel featuring a vintage-style décor. The staff was super friendly and helpful with tips about restaurants, sightseeing...anything really. Arrival was super easy.

Set in Prazeres, 25 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, Casa De Cha Prazeres offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Felix is very nice and helpful owner having very good breakfast. His place is located in quite area with good restaurants around.

Siisti, rauhallinen ja tyylikäs hostelli, hyvät sängyt ja tyynyt, ilmalämpöpumppu huoneessa. Erinomainen aamiainen hostellin alakerran kahvilasta saatavissa 15 €/päivä lisähintaan. Hostellin kahvila ja sen yhteydessä oleva pieni pop up kauppa olivat muutenkin ihanat.
