Located in just a minute's walk from JR Bungo-Taketa Station, Taketa Ekimae Hostel cue is a renovated wooden accommodation. A garden and terrace are offered for guests' interaction. Beautiful town and hostel. The vibe of this place is amazing, very cozy and homy, and the building is a very well preserved historical building. It has great installations and common áreas, the bed was also really comfy and everything was clean. They even offer a special price for the local onsen (wich I also recommend) and a welcome drink (I recommend the homemade plum sake). The hosts were incredibly friendly and they speak english. The breakfast was also really good! I only wished I could have stayed longer!!

Close to loads of Onsens, two right beside the hostel.

Situated in downtown Beppu, International Inn KOKAGE is an old establishment but offers clean and simple Japanese-style rooms. It features free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Lovely lady who presumably owns the inn - so much thought and care went into decorating the inn. Free onsen tickets for daily bathing too

Onsenyado Hamayu Nagi is located in Oita, an 8-minute walk from JR Beppu Station. The hostel offers free Wi-Fi public areas and complimentary coffee at the shared kitchen. There are Onsen ,bicycle free. it’s near station. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Location was great and room was very comfy. We love the Japanese style ryokan. The facility also has its own onsen and laundromat machines so everything was quite convenient.

A 7-minute walk from Kannawa Onsen Hot Springs, Beppu Yukemuri-no-oka Youth Hostel offers beds in dormitory rooms. It features coin-operated laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi at the lobby. The beds were comfortable, and the hostel had good facilities, including a common room, although I didn't use them very much. The hostel is in a good location for a lot of Onsen and the hot springs.
