Toyako Guest House Ponkotan is situated in Lake Toya, in the Toyako Onsen district. With free WiFi, this 1-star hostel offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge. Very friendly staff which made the stay worth it. They helped me with instructions on how to get to a specific place and held my luggage until I came back. The bed was very comfortable and the room was really nice! If only all hostels were like this!

Otaornai Backpacker's Hostel Morinoki is for free and independent travelers in Hokkaido Otaru. No good for small group or family. love the host family with a lovely cat and a lovely dog!! so cute to play with! many decorations and books to read through! nicely prepared self brand souveniors, I bought a stamp collection book and collect stamps directly from the host and for my remaining trip! The entire house and the room so warm that i know most wooden furnitures were built by the host! so amazing! i also love the local cooked breakfast! so warm! wonderful at high elevation to enjoy the city and mountatin views!

A 10-minute walk from JR Kutchan Train Station, Niseko Backpackers Hostel Tabi-Tsumugi offers simple accommodation with extra-long beds. Fully equipped kitchen, big beds, close to a big supermarket, and the effort that the host Ryo puts into the job is amazing. He will drive you everywhere and recommend hikes in the local area. The best recommendation you can get as a host has to be that the customers come back, and I've already been there twice on my trip around Japan :)

The Toya se bucură de o locație excelentă în cartierul Toyako Onsen din Lake Toya, la 12 minute de mers pe jos de Lacul Toya, la 41 km de Muroran și la 41 km de Gara Higashi-muroran. Was a nice quiet hostel by Lake Toya and only a minute walk to the village and lakefront. I went when it was quiet in the town so I had a whole room to myself. There’s also a restaurant on the bottom floor which is open until late and the staff are very friendly had a nice long conversation with them and felt very welcomed! Good facilities too: shower, bath, fridge and sauna!

Everything was perfect for us. However, upon talking to other people who were staying at the same location, we were shocked to find out that there was no air conditioning in their room. This made their stay extremely uncomfortable. We had air conditioning in our room. When I brought it up with management, they said that some rooms have it and some rooms don’t. It is then very important when you book to ask for a room With air conditioning, if that is important to you.
