Very pleasant place in a beautiful building, right next to the castle. The room was basic but clean, with a comfy bed. It was a great choice for one night. It was also very quiet. The staff was helpful, very responsive and polite. It's a 10-minute walk from the railway station, all uphill though.

Close to the centre and cheap Indian restaurants. Good parking. Quite idiosyncratic and funny in lots of ways. Very good breakfast at an unbeatable price. I liked the wardrobe that did not have a door. Generally, I do not use hotel furniture because I am scared of leaving stuff behind. The area was full of old and interesting buildings. (Shame about the George Christie clock tower, that the Council demolished under cover of darkness).

Also good to have a clothes hook in the bathroom. Also liked the detail on the tiles. Great I could leave my luggage in safe keeping too during the day.
