The 4-star VisitScotland accredited Stirling Youth Hostel is set in the grounds of Erskine Church, just a short walk from historic Stirling Castle, high above the town centre, with views over the surrounding area.

Very pleasant place in a beautiful building, right next to the castle. The room was basic but clean, with a comfy bed. It was a great choice for one night. It was also very quiet. The staff was helpful, very responsive and polite. It's a 10-minute walk from the railway station, all uphill though.

It's a great location for sightseeing, and the facilities are clean throughout. If you look around, you can also learn about the history of the hostel building.

Lovely staff and a fantastic breakfast with lots of choice. Parking is at the rear of the hotel so easy to take your bags - it doesn't belong to the hotel but cheap parking.

One of the better places on my road trip. Surprisingly friendly in an off beat genuine way. Close to the centre and cheap Indian restaurants. Good parking. Quite idiosyncratic and funny in lots of ways. Very good breakfast at an unbeatable price. I liked the wardrobe that did not have a door. Generally, I do not use hotel furniture because I am scared of leaving stuff behind. The area was full of old and interesting buildings. (Shame about the George Christie clock tower, that the Council demolished under cover of darkness).

Great location - friendly and accommodating staff. Liked the automatic bathroom low light that came on so saved fumbling / dazzle when up in the night. Also good to have a clothes hook in the bathroom. Also liked the detail on the tiles. Great I could leave my luggage in safe keeping too during the day.
