Absolutely loved it! Had booked a fab exclusive room. Just happened to stop at Guimaraes, what a town, loved it n decided to stay the night n booked this place on same afternoon n never regretted it. Only by later in evening came to realise where we’ve landed. The renowned Portugese famous tennis player owner Joao Sousa, was in house n came to stay hello, as a tennis fan our 10 mins chat with him made my day! Staff were so attentive n hospitable, like to mention their names Tania n Soraia, thank you so much for your hospitality n kindness. We had a fab time getting to know you both n the property, Abrigada, so much added to our Portugal travels n experiences! ❤️❤️

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Did not need use of the kitchen. Could have used a hair dryer but there was a fan. It was super nice to have private parking! Would stay again!

The staff was wonderful. The hotel is very centrally located and we were able to easily find parking. Carlos in particular made our stay absolutely delightful. He met us at the beginning when we were a little lost about which way to go and parking rules. He was available by WhatsApp to communicate with us throughout our stay arranging dinner, reservations for us and helping us with exploration plans. We would definitely stay here again.

Our hosts, Fatima and Bruno, could not have been more helpful even coming to find us when we first arrived and got a little lost. The apartment is right in the old centre which buzzes around you, just round the corner from the main square. But very quiet and peaceful at night. A well stocked little kitchen to cook and eat. A lovely spacious bedroom with additional comfy chairs. It was extremely hot whilst we were in Guimaraes but the room was cooled by a powerful and quiet fan. Do stay here - you won't be disappointed. Quinta da Cancela is an amazing place. First of all, the location is beautiful, with vinyards all around, a big lush garden, and a small pool. Then, our room was charming snd cos, And finally, Arthur, our host, was so welcoming and generous with advice regarding the area, with his explanations about wine production and the wine industry, and his heritage stories. We enjoyed his wines as well. Highly recommemded!!!

room was big and clean and it was very close to the center and to a free parking! (super important when traveling with a car) One of the best restaurants we ate during our trip was right under the hotel.
