Excellent location for a breakaway, within easy driving distance from JHB and PTA. Friendly, professional staff with a great breakfast and dining experience is well worth it. Well kept gardens and Spa on site.

Breakfast is a great spread - there's even complimentary champagne on some mornings (although those who do not drink are not catered for with non-alcoholic options)
Dinner is also great - the chef is really good. We enjoyed all our meals.
The Spa is beautiful and it was a great design to have it at the top of the property as the views are maginificent. We enjoyed our massages and the steam room. The Spa staff (Kristina and Jeanette in particular) are different from the rest of the resort - they are client-centric, extremely professional and warm.
Staff I would keep are ONLY Kristina and Jeanette from the Spa, Paul the wonderful and happy porter and Lawrence at reception.
Located just 5 minutes' walk from Maropeng and within 10 minutes' drive from the Sterkfontein Caves, Maropeng Boutique Hotel offers air-conditioned rooms.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. They made our stay memorable with unbelievable wide variety of delicious food & drinks. Christmas lunch was topped with chef cuisine served exquisitely platted, whilst startes & desserts were buffet style. Uniquely designed fit for any palate.
Would definitely do Christmas lunch or simply any food any time again.

Magaliesburg is a lovely place for a short getaway.
Magaliesburg is a lovely place for a short getaway. Close enough to Jhb, but you still get the feeling of being away. There are a number of interesting places to visit, and it's lovely to see the local people making such efforts to build up their businesses and the area.

If you are in the Magaliesburg area, be sure to stop at Black Horse brewery and restaurant. They have some of the best pizzas, burgers, craft beer and gin in the country. Everything is hand-crafted and the venue is absolutely gorgeous with its terraces, rolling gardens and fields. The Spar in Magalies has everything you might need if you are staying at a self-catering venue, so no need to drag your kitchen along.

Beautiful location in Magaliesburg. The property is surrounded by huge trees, so you don't hear traffic, or see any other places nearby. There are lovely walks to do on the property, and my suite was tucked up on top of a hill surrounded by trees which means I had 100% quiet and privacy (Suite 3).
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food was lovely. Grounds are beautiful, and our rooms were clean & comfortable, with a touch of luxury. I will definitely be returning.
The hotel is wonderfully secluded from the hustle and bustle and offers a perfect opportunity to unwind and take in the beautiful surrounding. The spa massage treatment was just what the doctor ordered! Staff is friendly and helpful. My family and I enjoyed the meals, especially the breakfast.
The staff treats you like family, the hotel and accomodation is absolutely beautiful with a lovely view of Friesian Horses and farmland. The food is 5 star. If you need a break from stress and city life, this tranquil setting will be the place, its just over an hour out of Johannesburg.
This is a very comfortable, characterful hotel. It reminds one strongly of the Cape in architecture and gardens. The bedrooms are huge, comfortable and nicely furnished, and the bathrooms large and well-equipped. Very friendly staff who could not do enough to make one welcome.
The owner and the host were very friendly and service was excellent. The place was so relaxing and accommodate family with kids. They have a play area, the swimming area, the braai spot on top of a mountain was amazing
Landor is a wonderful location, quiet and serene. Herman is a wonderful, helpful host and we look forward to returning, many thanks. Loved all the animals around. The cottage is very spacious and well appointed.
The grounds were amazing. The hotel poured a special bath with rose petals for our anniversary. The attention to detail from the staff was lovely and we will be back!
The view was amazing, its a ranch not a five star hotel. If you want to get away from the city noise, then this is the place. No tv just perfect. Great family time
Awesome Service and Food. This is a gem of a hotel. A must if you looking to get out of the city.
They went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday special.
The service, the food, the clean and serene environment. Games room and the walk around the hotel is a great initiative. Cherry on top is the spa treatment
Fantastic Location for 1 night stay for Johannesburgers as it is max an hours drive. Very Lovely Area for walking in the open.
Excellent staff and Owner.
