Very friendly and responsive hosts, good communication. Well-marked parking spot and sign on stair rail plus by the door indicating where to go. Modern, comfortable apartment, comfy mattress and pillows, well stocked kitchen. Kiwi grocery close by and tourists spots are easily walkable (we didn't use our car again until we left town).

I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive. You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style. I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet. However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.GauthierFrance - 8.0Scored 8.0

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

The exposed antique wood beams, dramatic sloping ceilings, and curved corner spier were very unique. The space was large and comfortable with a seating area and small desk. We had dinner at the restaurant and were very impressed with the flavorful and well-prepared meal. The lobby area was very well decorated and very romantic. Additionally I had a great view of the water! Location could not have been better as you got access to the famous hike literally behind the hotel and had the best views of Ålesund. Apartment is superbly located right opposite Ålesund Kirk, a short walk down into town. The criticisms below are minor, this is a great place to stay, and much cheaper than a single room in a good hotel
