The hotel was in a good location. It was close to everything we wanted to visit in Yokohama, especially the cruise terminal. It was close to a train station so we could easily visit other parts of Tokyo. Good breakfast selection, clean and quiet room, although rather small. The staff was very friendly.

We booked here because it was next door to the train station so we could make an easy transfer in the morning to Hiroshima. Rooms were nice and dark, beds were very comfortable and room was spacious. The breakfast had a wide variety but I would still consider it a basic breakfast, nothing outstanding.
It was about a 1 and a half hour transfer from Narita airport but very easy to get to.

We were there for the beginning of Golden week. Lots of people holidaying on the first weekend. It was quieter through the week.
The gardens were in full bloom around the city and very clean.
The waterfront was clean and many flower gardens a relaxed atmosphere.
Prices for food and transport were reasonable often less expensive than expected.
The hop on off bus was good but limited at stopping at museums and places of interest.
The trains were easy to use always asked. We saved the routes to phone and showed people. Who could read English but not able to express it.
We caught the city bus to Sankeiein Gardens. Showed bus driver where going and he told us where to get off.
The trains and buses have English destinations - next stop as they rolled over on the indication board.
The Sankeiein Gardens were peaceful and had a free English guide. Jim who did a fantastic roll with communication and he enjoyed what he gave as a volunteer.
We ate mostly in the underground resturants eateries with lots of choices. Less than 500 metres from our accommodation at the Shereton.
Overall as over 70's independant travellers we found it easy to travel around Yokohama if you take your time with language and have planned where you want to go. Our advice is ride with the tide. Be patient and understanding. Don't travell in the rush hour before 10 and and after 3pm.

Yokohama is a nice place to travel and explore.
Yokohama is a nice place to travel and explore. It is smaller than the big neighbour Tokyo but this gives it its charm. Great places are Yokohama station, Minato Mirai, Sakuragicho and Shinko. In Sakuragicho you can take the cable car to Shinko which is a great area to walk around, eat, drink and shop. The Red Brick warehouse is also situated there, where they host events all year round and you can find unique souvenir shops and restaurants.
Yokohama station at first it may feel crowded but the moment you get out of the station things relax. Inside the station itself you can find many shopping opportunities and lots of good restaurants with delicious food. Minato Mirai and Sakuragicho are fantastic places if you like walking by the sea, eat well, have a good cup of coffee and enjoy your time. The cup noodles museum is also located there which is definitely worth a visit to have some fun for an hour and create your own cup of noodles.

We stayed at the MinatoMirai which is walking distance to most of the attractions like the pier district, museums and Chinatown.
Totally different from Tokyo, much more relaxed and the pier district was wonderful!
There was also a yummy anchovy based ramen near the Yokohama Station .... can't remember what it was but it was yummy!
So many attractions and interesting places to explore. Totally recommend a few days exploring Yokohama.

Yokohama is a city brimming with interesting places to visit, delicious food to sample, and history to learn. Not only that, but I’ve spent a lot of time in Japan, and no where else did I find such friendly people!
My favorite bite was at Central Burger off the Ishikawacho stop. They serve an amazing American style smash burger that they’ve made completely their own. I had to leave the states to find a burger THAT GOOD.
I was sorry to leave this great city.

Yokohama, a gem among the cities I've visited, truly encapsulates the essence of a modern yet culturally rich urban landscape. The city's charm lies not only in its stunning architecture and well-planned layout but also in the warmth and friendliness of its people, a trait synonymous with Japanese hospitality. Strolling through Yokohama, one cannot miss the iconic landmarks that define its skyline – the majestic Sail Training Ship Nippon Maru, a beacon of the city's maritime heritage, and the towering Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views. The city is also a sanctuary for those seeking a blend of modernity and tradition, with its numerous temples and historical sites providing a tranquil escape. Every culinary experience here was a delight; the restaurants in Yokohama go above and beyond to offer exceptional service, ensuring each meal is not just about the exquisite Japanese cuisine but also about the overall dining experience. This harmonious blend of urban sophistication and cultural richness makes Yokohama an unforgettable destination.
Yokohama Bay Hotel is ideally located for your last nights in Japan. There are some lovely walks along the bay side and really only about 15mins walk to the Red Brick Warehouse precinct on the bay where there are some interesting eateries and artisan shops. Of course there’s the Cup Noodle Museum and Fun Park with carnival rides, Ferris wheel etc for the kids. Underground malls and shopping precincts are connected to the hotel as well as a short walk to the train station and the Yokohama Art Gallery.
The staff at Sotetsu Inn spoke excellent English, so there was no problems communicating. For me, the use of terminals for checking out was quick and efficient. I liked the little free satchels at reception which contained things for skin care and teabags. Interestingly, unlike other hotels in Japan, rooms do not come with irons, and you have to specify (with a sign on the front door) when you want a total room clean up each day or just new towels.
This was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many hotels all over Japan. The location next to Shin-Yokohama Station really can't be beat. A block away was a free bus to go to Ikea which I totally enjoyed. There was also a lot of really good places to eat within seconds of the hotel. The staff was great and I would consider the room I had to to be massive compared to the size of most hotels I stay at in Japan.
It was so good in functionality, plus amenities were exceptionally good, such as Japanese Yukata gown after the bath which was replaced in daily basis and the slippers which are rare to have for the guests for 3 star hotel (I thought it was 3 stars but could be higher). The price was fairly reasonable and location was fantastic! The biggest part is the big public bath with hot spring inside the hotel, which was free for the guests.
Stayed on the 34th floor, lovely views of the city during the day and night. From my room you could just see the Yokohama Bay Bridge. 5-7min walk to Shin-Yokohama station which is not where the city centre is, getting to the city centre takes an extra 20 minutes or so by train. Conventional hotel with a nice buffet breakfast option with Western and Japanese foods to choose from. Staff were extremely friendly, nice and polite.
This was probably my top pick out of my hotels for my trip to Japan. I was only in Yokohama for one night, but I wish I had been there longer just for this hotel. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I had throughout my whole trip, as Japan tends to like the harder mattresses and pillows. The location is right above the subway and has its own little entrance and exit.
This was part of our honeymoon trip to Japan, the hotel greeted us warmly on arrival. Due to it being our honeymoon, the manager allowed us to check in early and we were greeted by a card and wine.
Absolutely fabulous service and nothing was a problem for them.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the hotel itself was in walking distance of everything in Yokohama.
The room we stayed at was much bigger than expected for a Japan hotel, and that includes the bathroom. It is close to the train stations (9 minute walk to the local train and 12 minute walk to the JR line). Staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast buffet was also good and had a lot of choices. We were lucky to see Mt. Fuji from the reception area.
First and foremost this is a love hotel so be mindful of that, but it cannot be beaten price-wise. The facilities are excellent, huge rooms (biggest we've seen in Japan) with jacuzzi bathtub, in-room vending machine, hot/cold water dispenser, microwave and so on. The hotel is close to Shin-yokohama station and to the Ramen Museum (must see!).
A nice surprise that Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yokohama-Koen is close to China Town in Japan! We loved the shopping, restaurants, and all the retailers in this area dotted with beautiful temples throughout. The hotel is comfortable, the staff is pleasant and accommodating, and the location is within walking distance to everything.
This hotel provides exceptional service in a first class environment and provides outstanding views of Yokohama waterfront both from your room and an attractive roof top lounge and well located for city attractions shops and train service - the place to stay in Yokohama and easy access for Tokyo and the airport
Very convenient for cruising people as it overlooks the Yokohama Bay and can see the ships coming in.
Also near to 2 train stations so traveling to other parts of Japan is easy.
Shopping is just next door and there are plenty of restaurants so food is not a problem.
Beautiful hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. 5 stars!!! Hotel New Grand will always be my choice of hotel in Yokohama! My breakfast was included and it was thee best breakfast experience I've had. Bring a nice shirt as Le Normadie is a nice restaurant.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room is bigger compared to the usual size in Japan. Hotel is linked to the malls via basement link way. Yokohama Station is just opposite the hotel. A must stay if you are in Yokohama.
harbor view was wonderful, room was big- much like a normal hotel compared to the usual small hotels in japan. location was great next to everything, taxi right outside if you need it. would stay agin
Did not include the breakfast
And we paid double price compare Japanese
After we stop the hotel . check in thay said this room are no phone and no Air conditioning
it was horrible service .
Like our first stay a couple of weeks ago, this is another enjoyable stay. We started and ended our Japan trip with this nice hotel and for sure will bring home a lot of good memories.
