We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
this is the Christmas Eve, we had a car accident before arriving at Hvammstangi. These is few hotel or apartment available at that moment when we arrival. We searched booking and found this property, and luckily the owner replied our request very soon. However we had a little bit internet lag during that time, the information email came later. We kept talking through our phones and got the key into the room. This is an unforgettable experience and thank you for all the people who helped us during tough moments.
The house was so cozy and nice, the interior design was super beautiful and thoughtful. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom and bedrooms had everything we needed, including towels and hairdryers! We really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the garden, we could even see northern lights sitting in the hot tub that night :) The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, thank you, we loved our stay in your guesthouse!
The place is wonderful. Great climate and quiet place in the remote area. We really like this gesthause, for its originality and wonderful host. The guesthouse is at the end of the fjord with a wonderful view. A real Icelandic climate in the middle of the nature and sheep. Nearby you can find several beaches with seals. In nice weather, you can see the Westfjords. I recommend this place to everyone.
We are group of family (6 people), we booked 3 twin rooms and we get the rooms closed to each other. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a beautiful view from the room (nearby the farm). We like how they use horseshoes to be their symbol in the hotel (e.g., room number and stair). The breakfast is really good especially croissants and egg salad.
We loved everything about the cottage and the location. The surroundings were beautiful and serene with a view of the sea. The cottage inside was lovely: spacious and comfortable with pretty decor. The cottage was one of our two favorite overnight stays in our drive around the island. I wish we could've stayed longer.
Every thing was fine ,quirky hotel , host was great would have marked this up a lot more but our room was smelly from foul plumbing in the bathroom , Im not sure if this an issue with the other rooms but our room 11 whilst great clean and comfortable just marred by that.Breakfast was good and restaurant meal also
The cottages are exactly as new, comfortable, and beautiful as the photos. Very well designed. Almost everything you’d need is provided. And the views out every window are gorgeous. Fields, rolling hills, the fjord in the distance, and Icelandic horses prancing around in the field next door.
This guest house is a gem. A sweeping view of the fiord, a tiny picturesque church and graveyard nearby, and lovely vintage Icelandic furniture, dishes, and decorative touches. Scrupulously clean and tidy with a well-appointed kitchen. I wish I had booked more than one night
Shared space (living room) is spacious and has a large TV, as well as a coffee machine for free use.
The room was large & beds were comfortable.
The staff, especially the hotel manager, was very kind and helpful.
The breakfast is good with a buffet to choose from.
No frills updated guesthouse in Hvammstangi. Check in was straightforward - just pick up the key with your name from the kitchen table. The room was cosy but sufficient for one person. The place looked clean and well kept.
Oskar is an extraordinary host, we felt like home. The place is simple, but it is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The road to access the guesthouse is a little rough, but it is part of the journey.
Absolutely loved this place! So comfortable, beautifully decorated, had everything we really needed after 10 days of camping around iceland :) the area is very tranquil, we really enjoyed our stay here.
The location suited travel plans coming from north to south west on route 1
Breakfast was satisfactory continental type breakfast expected on Iceland
Host very welcoming and made everything at ease
Location is right in the middle of Hvammstangi - so easy to get to everything. Room was basic, but clean. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was also basic but satisfying.
Clean, good value for this money, met some nice people while cooking together, it’s super warm in the rooms (important during most of the year in Iceland)
