Comfy beds and nice big living space. We arrived outside of the reception hours but were given access without issues and also were given an upgrade which was highly appreciated:)

We really enjoyed our stay here. A beautiful house, with incredibly beautiful surroundings. Everything was there that we needed. The beds were wonderful and the shower was perfect. For us, this was the best house we stayed in during our tour. Thanks for a great overnight stay

The cottage is well fit with 6 people since there were 3 rooms with 2 beds in each room. The mattress and pillows were clean and soft. I also like the blanket which can keep me warm all through the night. We could cook Thai food easily using the kitchenette provided. Many thanks.

Amazing sea views. Great breakfast.
Amazing sea views. Great breakfast. Ate dinner at another establishment in town that was very good. If we stayed longer we would have eaten dinner at the hotel. The room was gorgeous. Loved the roof window. It even had a bluetooth speaker that sounded great. We could have stayed much longer if we had the time. Blonduos is a quiet and beautiful little town with much history.

Nice little bridgehead town with various services.
Nice little bridgehead town with various services. A good base to travel from. Various choices of good day trips, e.g. around Skagi and Vatnsnes peninsulas, Skagafjörður district and the scenic valley of Vatnsdalur. Blönduós is also a good staring point for a highland drive across Kjölur to Reykjavík.

The food was FABULOUS.
The food was FABULOUS. Accommodations, though shared baths, were excellent. Not much from the outside, but inside very new, contemporary.
Hostess is accommodating.
For us, it was a one-night stop between destinations.
Excellent place to stay in Blönduós! I had stayed here once before while traveling for work and knew I needed to come back to stay next time we were in Iceland for vacation. Great location right on the coast, nicely equipped large rooms with modern bathrooms, and great hosts. Dinner at the Guesthouse is amazing; since we ate with them two nights, they adjusted our menu the second night to make sure we didn't get any repeat dishes. Amazing attention to detail and service.
First self-catering stop on a trip round the E1, and set a standard that was hard to beat. The apartment was very spacious (the largest we stayed in), well appointed and had marvellous views over Blönduós and surrounding areas (the best views we had at our various stopping points). Cooking facilities were good. A really good start to our journey, which set standards later stops rarely met.
The hotel is also a school (now on vacation) and therefore has a really big warm pool, open 24 hours, wonderful! Breakfast is ok, you can get dinner, the next village with restaurants is 20 km away (15 min - typical Iceland distances and times). I came in the morning driving through the (not really) night and could get my room only booked for the next night right away, what a courtesy!
The hotel has a good location close to the water and near a bird watching station.
The hotel facilities are in line with the category.
However, the rooms, corridors and restaurant are newly renovated and very stylish and pleasantly furnished.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I can highly recommend the hotel.
The guesthouse Kiljan was wonderful. The owner made us feel at home. We had a very big spacious room with access to a bathroom just across the hall. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with every good food you would want! We recommend the guesthouse Kiljan if you plan to stsy in Blonduos!
Reviews for the guesthouse weren't very good so we were a little hesitant to stay there. But the reviews were so very wrong. It's not a 5-star hotel, but it was so much better. Comfortable with a wonderful mother and daughter who made our stay one of our favorite stays in all Iceland.
Dinner was outstanding and the proprietors were delightful. We would love to visit again in winter to view the Northern Lights. This property exceeds expectations and makes a visit to Blonduos a must for your trip on the ring road.
Interesting concept taking a former dormitory school and turning it into a hotel. It is very clean and the employees are great. Expect a dormitory style stay. It was a good value for Iceland so we would stay here again.
Wonderful hotel! They keep this beautiful place in a great condition! It’s very cozy, clean, well-maintained and with a great style of old-times hotel. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
The hotel is a bit outdated but compensates with a good breakfast, friendly stuff, hot tubs and the beautiful surrounding area. Unfortunately no flat irons are available.
A renovated hotel full of charm and good taste. Great breakfast backed by a nice music selection: the first time I heard Sigur Rós in their Iceland home besides my car!
the hotel was recently remodeled so everything was impeccable. The staff was weary friendly and professional. the breakfast was really good and our room was beautiful
Big rooms, huge shower. The hotel has nice facilities, including a big screen TV at the lobby.
Staff was kind and helpful with our questions. A great place to stay.
An hotel in a peaceful natural setting. I was made very welcome on my arrival and the accommodation met my expectations. I had a good dinner and breakfast.
The receptionist is very friendly and they converted the school to a hotel, but the rooms are clean and can stay for a night or two but not more than that.
