A wonderful welcome! A lift to the pub, the first time, so we knew how to get there, but it was a lovely walk anyway.
The breakfast was the best of our trip.

Achill Sound was a perfect location for our family, not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of some of the very popular beaches but close enough to everything that was needed. We discovered a lovely beach at Dugort, went cycling on the Greenway and on the Island and eat at Achill Sound hotel. All good.

A great place with peace and great beaches.
A great place with peace and great beaches. Not for a crazy party weekend, as there are limited number of places available. Still, It is a great island for nature and some good romantic times. Great sunsets . Beehive restaurant was my favorite. Keem and Keel beaches are gems.

Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists.
Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists. Friendly locals. Have only been to one village, other areas are more developed,, and popular tourist spots. The 450 bus service goes from Westport, to connect with train stops in the village, and goes through Achill Sound. There are taxis, but it may take a while to get one. Stop in Achill Sound Hotel for food, and friendly locals.

We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer.
We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer. The beaches were gorgeous, we hired bikes and went touring one day, I did find the bike hire a little expensive but it was lovely to have the facility available close to our hotel. Keel and Keem are very busy at this time so we went to Dumh Eige and Doogart beaches instead. We ate lunch in Gielty's which was very tasty and there are lots of activities available on the island such as paddle-boarding, kayaking, walks etc.
It is an exceptional location and top class accommodation. Beautiful old West of Ireland cottage modernised to A1 spec. Convenient to local amenities and perfect base from which to explore Achill. Beautiful views of scenic Mayo coastline perfectly framed through the feature living/dining picture window. One could spend hours observing the changing light on the distant mountain side and calming Achill Sound. A gem of a property we feel lucky to have found.
Very warm welcome with coffee and cake, also very accommodating to our early afternoon arrival which enabled us to drop off bags and enjoy the island for the afternoon. Very informed about options to explore on the island and recommendations for directions.
Breakfast choices were great (we went for pancakes one morning and the next one salmon with scrambled eggs).
Quiet location.
Good shower.
View over Achill Sound was great!
Great value for money!
The owners are lovely people. They were very helpful and so friendly. The food is excellent. We had dinner there 2 nights and the meals were delicious 😋. The breakfast was really good there was plenty to keep us going until evening. The hotel is in a great location with shops and pubs beside you. Great value for money. We will definitely be going back.
the location was FANTASTIC, you were right at the centre kind of junction so could easily spin out of achill to achill sound for supervalue, petrol, Westport, etc, and then 15 minute drives from all points of the island!
the lounge was fab, the fire was so cosy, the breakfast was great and the friendly hospitality made it.
The view from the room was incredible and the window opens so you can get a nice breeze. I arrived late in the evening and the owner was very accommodating and made some food for me. It was much appreciated! The next night I had a chicken curry that was so delicious and flavorful, would definitely recommend.
Very nice, clean, spacious, well equipped house. Close to Achill Sound which has supermarket, pub and restaurant. Cycle/walking path to Achill Sound just outside the door. Great communication from Stephen on arranging to pick up the keys, etc. Nice quiet location.
Breakfast was great, Marie was a lovely woman who made us feel very welcome, shower was great and Marie provided us with plenty of towels. Always checked on us if everything was okay. A great little BnB. Only a 15 minute drive from keem strand, great for surfing
This is a lovely, tidy property with comfortable rooms. We appreciated so much that our bed had a flat sheet and our bathroom had a washcloth. Ann gave great advice about what to see on Achill Island and prepared for us a hearty, delicious breakfast.
The room was lovely, with everything supplied. The bed was very comfortable. The host was so helpful, with advice on where to eat and transport options, and making sure there was breakfast and snacks as some of the hotels were not doing breakfast.
The bar / waiting staff were very friendly and did their best (despite staff shortages).
Overall the hotel was functional and clean. Location was great and the views outside were gorgeous.
The hotel was fine, just not good value @ 160 a night.
Very comfortable with a beautiful view of the sound from my window. Friendly and very helpful
with planning my day around the island. a short walk to the little village. Excellent music by TommMcGirty at McLoughlins Pub.
Nicely modern house with friendly family (and dog!), great location at the entrance to Achill Island which is a must stop in Ireland. Nicely sized rooms, and house is right next to a lovely walking path.
Anne and Stephen were lovely hosts. Breakfast exceptionally good. Walking distance of Achill Sound via Greenway. Very comfortable accommodation. Great location for touring Achill or further afield.
Amazing & affordable BnB at the heart of Achill Sound. Great so location so that you can walk-access all the amenities easily. Roisin was a very kind lady and the room was spacious and spotless clean!
Marie had dairy free options as I'm cows milk protein intolerant.Even down to the butter .I have paid for fancy hotels in the past and they won't cater for dairy allergies.
Friendly owner run hotel. Basic accommodation but clean.
Hosts very friendly and food is fresh, homemade and tasty. After a long days walk it was exactly what we wanted.
Stayed here for two night solo. Had a great experience staying here. Ideal location. Food was lovely and staff very friendly. Will recommend staying here
