1) Really great breakfast - large and tasty, 2) lots of facilities and services (yoga, ping pong, drum session / movie nights etc, sun bathing dock, restaurant & bar), 3) location right at the beach with view across the lake, 100m from the main dock of San Marcos. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lively but it didn't feel like noisy party hostel

It's situated in a prime location, overlooking Lake Atitlan, in a private and serene spot in San Marcos. While I had high expectations for El Dragon due to the photos, the bar and restaurant exceeded my expectations, and it offers direct access to the lake. Unfortunately, I was unable to use the Jacuzzi as it was undergoing maintenance.

Dita and Casa Rosa was a dream come true! Dita's hospitality was exceptional, and the grounds were breathtaking. The spacious loft was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and the breakfast with a view of the lake was simply divine. I look forward to returning this summer – can't wait!

Favorite hostel I've stayed in at the lake and I will definitely book here when I stay in San Marcos. Great price for private room. Great roof terrace with adequate space for hanging out and other activities, and with comfy couches. Wonderful breakfast. Amazing staff. The owner is such a sweetie poo and the other staff are all very nice. Beds are comfy. Best part, you can't hear the roosters and dogs in the same way I could at every other hostel I've stayed in, in San Marcos. Most places, the dogs/roosters sound like they're right next to you. Casa Ahau is far enough that it doesn't keep you up at night, but not too far from town center- I enjoyed the walk. Comfy, friendly, peaceful, full of beautiful plants and herbs. A few little comfy nooks in the communal areas.

Spacious and plenty of room for the 3 of us. Location provides great views of volcano, along with the villages of San Juan and San Pedro. Always a welcome oasis to return to this retreat home after a day out exploring. We would find a different place to enjoy on the property. Very well taken care of and has everything you need.

A good location for a relaxing stay in San Marcos La Laguna, Baraka Atitlán is a guest house surrounded by views of the lake.
