Located near Serra da Estrela, this 250-year old manor house has historic furnishings and artistic accessories. Each themed room is a reminder of older way of life. Beautiful old spacious house, with modern bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were comfy and bedding great. The communal are is big and beautiful, feels like going back in time because of the use of stone and size of the area. It is however cozy with ample heating provided when it got cold. Enough games , including a snooker table to keep us occupied while it was raining and cold. The host is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. Overall a memorable stay

The lodging is in the ground floor of a carefully modernized and upgraded house in the center of Gouveia. The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

A great stay, you would not believe how good can a night stay be. Newly furnished room very clean and spacious. The staff were very polite and helpful, and finally, a delicious breakfast served with a good atmosphere.

A lovely B&B in Manteigas, in the middle of the amazing Serra da Estrela, managed by two fantastic hosts. Daniela and Paulo love what they are doing and gave us a lot of useful information and tips on the places to visit and the trails to follow during our stay. The room was just perfect, with a stunning view on the mountains and a delicious homemade breakfast that gave us a perfect start of the day. Casa Mariolas is definitely worth the visit! We look forward to visit them again very soon.

Quinta do Quinto features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Porto da Carne. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Awesome place for a getaway, to relax and just enjoy yourselves. It's quiet, we'll arranged and very friendly staff. Even though this is in a remote location, they do have a power wall to charge your car, that's a ++ 😊

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.
