Beautiful old spacious house, with modern bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were comfy and bedding great. The communal are is big and beautiful, feels like going back in time because of the use of stone and size of the area. It is however cozy with ample heating provided when it got cold. Enough games , including a snooker table to keep us occupied while it was raining and cold. The host is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. Overall a memorable stay

The lodging is in the ground floor of a carefully modernized and upgraded house in the center of Gouveia. The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

It's quiet, we'll arranged and very friendly staff. Even though this is in a remote location, they do have a power wall to charge your car, that's a ++ 😊

The house is very well located, clean and well maintained. The staff is great at accomodating our needs.

La Casa D'Avenida è una dimora familiare recentemente ristrutturata e situata nel centro di Manteigas, nel Parco Naturale della Serra da Estrela. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.
