Very pleasantly surprised- the photos on Booking.com don't do this place justice. Gorgeous views. We had the family room which was large, smartly decorated, clean, and very pleasant for our family of 4. The balcony with river view was huge and would be even cooler with a full table and chairs to enjoy outside, but I don't think the non-family rooms had such a big balcony. Best breakfast buffet we had in Portugal. Is associated with the neighbor Hotel Museu with ancient ruins in the reception area. Perfectly located to walk up the castle and beautiful Mertola in just a few minutes. Staff was pleasant and nice with my kids. Little outdoor cafe between the two hotels also has great views and affordable small meals.
