The apartment was not only cozy and clean but also well-designed, mixing old & new. The kitchen is very well equipped, there are thoughtful little touches such as wine/beer to buy. It was not just a stay, however, it was an experience. The place has lots of history and the personal encounter with our host Gísli made our stay all the more special. He shared plenty of interesting knowledge about the history of the place, things to do in the area, etc. Couldn't have wished for a better experience! Thank you, Gísli!

We arrived ahead of our scheduled time, but our host was there, cleaning the houses, so we got our keys right away and also had a good chat with him. The system at Bjarkarholt Guesthouse is: do it yourself. So we had to make our own beds and also take off the linen and towels and stow them in a bag, when we left. It's not a big deal and you save some money. The houses have a working kitchen, fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster. Wi-fi was fine too.

The contact person was good and helped over phone on how to use few things in the apartment.

We had a deflated tire and the host actually helped to pump up our tire. There's a nice hot tub where we soaked in and enjoyed the Northern Lights. Comes with a washer and dryer which was really helpful to have. BBQ pit provided.

Hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. Check in instructions were easy to follow, and directions to the property were well thought out. Great space for our evening after a long day of driving!
