Gythio is a very pleasant little town with a range of eating places and shops, set on a bay with a small port The Castello Antico is set 5km round the coastline - which means there are no hassles for car parking, Access to the Mani Peninsula and other interesting places in Southern Peleponnese by car is easy - but public transport limited. About 3.5 hours drive to Athens airport.

Magical romantic place to visit every time in your trip near by. Excellent food, history, art! Always a pleasure to stay in Gythio. The upper small streets abd the authentic houses are a landscape to share. Interesting town I expected it to be more picturesque but a good chunk, maybe a third of the town's buildings, are abandoned and derelict which really brings the whole place down. The Olive Yard was perfect!
The Olive Yard was perfect! It was beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast basket was the best we had in Greece! The hotel staff washed, dried and neatly folded our laundry. It was very much appreciated, especially when you're on a road trip around Greece and don't often have access to laundry facilities. The staff were so friendly and I enjoyed meeting and chatting with them. Beautiful local beach which is a short walk from The Olive Yard. Perfection...and I will definitely stay there again.

We loved the beaches that are all around Navagio ..Mavrovouni .. Very fresh fish in reasonnable prices . The hotel lakonis 1972 is getting renovated so the view will be much better than a old building skelete. We will be back soon .Margeli

The bar makes excellent drinks and coffees and the food is fantastic at the hotel. Gythio is 4 min away in car, and we loved Gythio. We travelled to Limeni, Arepoli and Monemvasia but our preferred choice to stay was close to Gythio since there is so much more there. The staff was always helpful and the owner is passionate about her hotel. And it shows.anitaUnited Kingdom

Staff was very friendly and we had a great sea view from our room. There was a nice little village square 10 minutes away with two or three restaurants where we had great dinner. If you want more options you can go to Gythio, which is 30 minutes walk away.
