We were met by the lovely host Pálína. Who showed us around and made us feel welcome and at home. She patiently answered the many questions my eight year old had. He was fascinated with all the rocks and books and was happy to have toys and games to play with. All the hotels and places we stayed at in Iceland were clean but this was the cleanest place we stayed at, with so much attention to details. We used the kitchen to prepare some sandwiches. There was one other party of 3 there and it was totally fine. Didn’t use the hot tub and sauna as we had spent the day earlier in a pool, but other party did and said it was good.

We had a good night here, there was clean bed linen and clean towels, clean bathroom, the kitchen was fine for what we needed. The kids were playing outside and there were no problems. It was very warm in the little house at the beginning of may.

The lodging was directly on the water and had a very nice view. I liked the family history of the farmhouse and enjoyed the fresh milk left in the refrigerator for us.

Very clean and comfortable with great views. What else do you need? Easy to find and check in seamless. Would recommend highly.
This hotel was easy to find off the main Route 1. Accommodation was on the basic side, however it was clean and tidy. 24/7 tea & coffee available from the dining area. Staff were friendly and assisted where necessary. Reasonable buffet breakfast. It is more on the expensive side compared to other hotels we had stayed in but due to its location, it appears to be reasonably priced. There is plenty of off road parking. The village itself is quite compact but there is a lack of local restaurants. We can recommend the Sjavarborg Restaurant, on the quayside for evening meal.

We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
this is the Christmas Eve, we had a car accident before arriving at Hvammstangi. These is few hotel or apartment available at that moment when we arrival. We searched booking and found this property, and luckily the owner replied our request very soon. However we had a little bit internet lag during that time, the information email came later. We kept talking through our phones and got the key into the room. This is an unforgettable experience and thank you for all the people who helped us during tough moments.
Location was as planed, in the middle of no where, very isolated and quite but not scary. We arrived pretty late and the host was there to welcome us and give us a quick tour. Beds were amazingly comfortable ! There was a fully equipped kitchen, with coffee & tea available as well as some banana & granola to help yourself. Bathroom was super super clean. It was perfect for us, we were there less than 10hrs, it was our first night of our itinerary
A great location on a farm, just next to a peninsula with its fair share of attractions (go check out the nearby Seal Center in Hvammstangi for a better understanding of the region's cutest mammal before driving around Vatnsnes to spot some seals lounging on rocks). Andrea was a very welcoming host, I really enjoyed talking with her and the breakfast was a nice bonus.
Everything was very nice especially the information provided for the self checkin.
I accidentally asked another hotel for my self checkin since I was late for normal checkin time that I've reserved for the next day! Fortunately, the staff(s) were so kind to put note on the front door with the instruction so I can get in easily. Thank you again for this!
The cottage was in a quiet location outside of town with views over the fjord. The main room was of a good size with stylish and comfortable furnishings and even a small fridge. The bathroom was the biggest we had seen in Iceland and had a large shower. The owner was very friendly and helpful when we needed our ice packs freezing. Thanks for that.
We loved everything about the cottage and the location. The surroundings were beautiful and serene with a view of the sea. The cottage inside was lovely: spacious and comfortable with pretty decor. The cottage was one of our two favorite overnight stays in our drive around the island. I wish we could've stayed longer.
Every thing was fine ,quirky hotel , host was great would have marked this up a lot more but our room was smelly from foul plumbing in the bathroom , Im not sure if this an issue with the other rooms but our room 11 whilst great clean and comfortable just marred by that.Breakfast was good and restaurant meal also
The cottages are exactly as new, comfortable, and beautiful as the photos. Very well designed. Almost everything you’d need is provided. And the views out every window are gorgeous. Fields, rolling hills, the fjord in the distance, and Icelandic horses prancing around in the field next door.
The hotel was nice and comfortable. Enjoyed having a TV to watch. There is not a restaurant on site. We did not pay for breakfast. There is a restaurant at the Museum. Not too many other places to eat. It was good place to stay on our way to our next stop.
A bit off of the beaten path and unconventional looking for a hotel, this newly re-opened hotel turned out to be a quaint and cozy place. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was great, too! I'd definitely stay there again!
The location suited travel plans coming from north to south west on route 1
Breakfast was satisfactory continental type breakfast expected on Iceland
Host very welcoming and made everything at ease
Very cozy, home like set up
Very comfortable sleep, the best night of sleep I had in Iceland
Great location close to Hvitzerkur
And most of all very hospitable and accommodating host Oskar
For a shared bathroom guesthouse, this was a very nice spot. Big bathrooms and big common area. Our room had a sliding door that leads to the patio with a sea view. Everything was clean.
Room was clean and newly renovated, and not very expensive for Iceland. Conveniently located roughly mid-way between Rekjavik and Akureiri. Included breakfast was OK.
