The location of the hotel was exceptional! It was close to the harbor, with lovely views, but also very walkable to town and a bit longer walk to the Malahide Castle and Gardens. I loved the covered parking, where I could ditch the car and explore Malahide on foot. The room was quiet and comfortable, the bathroom was exquisite (and sparkling clean). The reception area and lobbies were calm, serene, and beautifully decorated. Finally, breakfast was fantastic, with kind, attentive staff, and a ton of options to choose from. Finally, the Dublin airport was a quick, easy, toll-free drive from the hotel, making that the icing on the cake!

The room was comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help me. A staff member from the front desk escorted me to my room and helped me with the luggage. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The village is quite pretty with many old houses. It is clean but in August quite busy. Traffic can be slow moving through the town. The beach was disappointing but Portmarnock beach a couple of miles south is very good. There are many restaurants which provide a variety of choice although there is a preponderance of Italian dishes. The views out to sea are good and walking around the town is interesting.

I'm not familiar with the area, trip was for a wedding with a couple of days added on. Transport was slow. Nowhere locally to leave a suitcase on departure day. The train station officer allowed us to leave it for a few hours.
We enjoyed a tour around Malahide Castle and a stroll around the gardens.
Lots of pubs if that's your thing. I don't drink.
Not knowing the area I am unlikely to visit there again. However, if you want a base for travel into town, it's fine. Travelling inland is tricky unless you travel by the Luas on the old line towards Sandyford.
We got taxis everywhere as the wedding was nearby, as were a couple of family visits. If going out, definitely plan your travel to reduce frustration. It is cheap though and taxis are not extortionate either, as fares strictly by the meter. Just book ahead if on a deadline :-)

The hotel expansion programme since my last visit is astonishing but it retains and has upgraded its regality without charging an extreemly high fee. Since it was too late to eat in the hotel we walked into the village and just scraped into a useful take away venue closing at 11 pm. Expectations that we could have had the food delivered to the hotel were unfounded but we enjoyed a late night drink to accompany the food on our return. This is a wonderful but not stuffy hotel with most agreable staff.

Lovely village.walk along marina dog fouling obvious.
Lovely village.walk along marina dog fouling obvious. Spoils the whole image of area. Townhouse lane changed by covid.
Empty shops could be tidied and dressed. 3x shops Mark Cain etc brilliant and welcoming.
The guest house is just ten minutes' walk from Malahide village and Malahide Castle. Plenty to do for the kids and bars in the evening for the adults. Malahide is about 30-40 minutes' drive or DART (light rail) from the Dublin city centre, so you get the best of both worlds.
The guest house itself was clean and warm with friendly helpful staff. A great choice for families.
Excellent location. Off-street parking. Felt like a safe neighborhood - we were walking about 11 pm after dinner in the town center. Room clean and neat and freshly painted. Private entrance to our room. Host delivered fresh tea and biscuits to our room after arrival. They also gave us a fabulous recommendation for a local pub for dinner. Very friendly host and staff.
The check in staff member was excellent, he was very welcoming and got us to our room quickly. The hotel decor is fresh and new. There were lots of staff on breakfast duty.
The flower arrangements are exceptional.
The hotel has excellent access to Malahide and beaches etc.
Beautiful room - lovely décor, spacious, comfortable bed. Close proximity to Dublin Airport (10-15 mins drive) which was perfect for us as we were flying out next morning. Several eating places in Malahide village a short drive away. Highly recommend.
Lovely, comfortable ( great bed) all things catered for. Loved it. I will return. R was a great host. Thank you. I have told everyone! Short walk to Malahide centre and the Dart Malahide Castle beautiful and Avoca scones 😋😋
Very friendly, helpful. Home away from home.
Malahide has the Dart train that takes you into Dublin in 25 mins. The 102 bus from Dublin Airport drops you off in Malahide centre and then a 10 minute walk to Castle Lodge.
the location for Malahide Castle and Malahide centre is excellent and within walking distance of both.
The room was very quiet and large with nice bathroom, and plenty of towels. The breakfast was okay.
Comfortable, close to Malahide beach and a short walk to Malahide. Beautiful area and lovely stay at ByTheSea, the host was very welcoming and let me know if there was anything else I needed just ask.
Location was superb for a stay that was quiet and peaceful
Walk through the park near the castle in to Malahide village was easy
Near the Dart, excellent cafes etc in the village
Very friendly. Felt like we were staying with friends. This is a great place to stay for a few days before flying home. Malahide is a cool town with some good pubs and restaurants.
The lodging is no longer a "bed and breakfast" but our hosts supplied tea, coffee and snack bars and more. The lodging is within a few blocks of restaurants that served breakfast.
Very elegant place, the kitchen was very well equipped, close to a bus stop (30 mins to the city centre) and very nice park & castle near by (Malahide)
