First off, the rate for the cabin was $100, which was much lower that other accommodations in the area. Because the rate was so reasonable I was able to use my funds for other fun activities, Secondly, the owners were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. I was offered a room in the back of the motel, which was nice since traffic on that road was heavy. I was advised that the room was smaller, yet that was fine. I wanted a small table, which I needed to work on a project and it would not have fit in the room so the owner gladly offered a cabin for the same price. He was not put out or irked by my request. There are 2 cabins to each unit, which I did not mind. It is early in the season so there there no guests in the adjoining cabin. The room was very clean and there were no unwelcome smells. Smaller heater, which warmed up the room quickly. The bathroom was very clean as well. I did not take a shower so I cannot remark on that aspect. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. There was a refrigerator and microwave, both very clean. There was a large screen TV, which I didn't use. The cabin was paneled in wood, which I found to be cozy. If you are looking for rugs, painted walls, "upscale", etc. you won't find it here. If you want a simple, comfortable accommodation with responsive, kind owners, to lay your head at night this is the place for you. When I dropped off my key in the morning both owners (wife and husband) were once again very welcoming, thanking me for choosing their motel. I will return this to motel every time I am in the area as long as they are open for the season. I believe they said they close for the season sometime in mid-October.

I love the comfy beds and couches. The house smells so natural and clean, not like harsh chemicals or artificial room freshener. I love that we were able to bring our senior dog instead of leaving him at a kennel.

It was exactly what it promised to be: modest, clean and a good place to stay. Close proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia, without the high cost. No complaints, and would stay here again.

The location was fantastic. 15 minutes or less to Bar Harbour and Acadia National Park. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Good water pressure in the shower and very quiet location - although it was off-season and there were very few other people there. This may not be the case in the busier season.
The staff were also super helpful. Both Mary and Peggy Sue went out of their way to give us information and help us in any way.

The floorplan of our motel room was ideal with a very long and spacious bathroom separating our room from the neighboring one, making it very quiet and private. There was plenty of counter and floor space with a large TV and very comfortable bed. An added bonus was being able to walk out past our front door parking space to a grass lawn that included a 20x80' fenced in dog park. The motel was an easy five minute drive to Acadia National Park and the bustling town center of Bar Harbor. Driving briefly in the opposite direction yielded some quieter restaurants if you simply wanted to dine and try a delicious lobster roll.

The one thing this area will not be noted for is their coffee. Bad to very bad in most places. A decent stop is Sugar Bakery. A Cash only establishment they draw a crowd. But, their food is tasty while their "dark roast" coffee would qualify as an acceptable medium roast. So, it's the best of the least. Don't go to Bar Harbor for Lobster. Go the other direction! Union River Lobster Pot isn't just great. It's incredibly good. Very welcoming Owner and staff. Local ingredients and excellent food. Don't go anywhere else. Trust me.

The only thing we found difficult was that there were no stores or fast food places open in the evening. But this is probably due to the pandemic. If you want any pizza or fast food, you need to buy before 5pm.

this is an awesome area to stay in and close to several areas of interest to see, like Acadia National Park, many lighthouses within 1-2 hours, and don't miss sunset at Cadillac Mountain!!! get there 1.5-2 hours before sunset!! Ellsworth is another small town worth visiting too. You can't go wrong staying in Trenton.
We choose this hotel to be close to Acadia National Park, but change for one in Bar Harbor for the second night. Had we known that this motel was so comfortable and well-located we would have stayed here the 2 nights. When we left,we had a problem with our rental car and the owner helped us will all the calls. He was truly gentle and helpful, even thought we were not staying there. Choose the Acadia Gateaway Motel for your visit to Acadia Park... it's worth it.
We spent 3 nights in lodge room C. The room was large with a sofa, table and chairs and a kitchenette. The beds were not great but it didn't keep me awake. This is an older establishment and nothing fancy but it provided us with a decent base for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia.
The rooms are quite ok and the garden in the back is lovely. In that sense this was a decent motel and for the price it wasn't too bad. The location is good in the sense that it is close to Acadia National Park and is therefore a good spot to explore Mount Desert Island from.
Cabin was clean, bathrooms were clean, the grounds were clean and felt pretty safe. Location was great, just within minutes to Bar Harbor. The campground was pretty full but surprisingly quiet day and night.
Staff were apologetic of all the issues we found.
absolutely everything was wonderful, great view! east traveling distance to Bar Harbor and Acadia National park. Great communication and already have said when we come back we would never stay anywhere else
We stayed in one of the smaller cottages and had a great stay! The location was great, close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Cottages were super cute and clean, would highly recommend!
Convenient location to explore Acadia national park
Big bonus to have room with kitchen. Very friendly and always available owner of this hotel. Good value for money we paid.
Check-in was easy. Staff accommodating. There was a window a/c unit in the room, which was welcomed. Bonus of Trenton is there are several choices for dining, grocery shopping.
Within minutes of Acadia NP and Bar Harbor, ME area. Wonderfully-private waterfront location with relaxing view. Nicely appointed interior and well-stocked kitchen and baths.
