The location was amazing! Derrick was a wonderful host. And his granddaughter welcomed us with the most amazing and beautiful cupcakes on arrival. Derrick gave all the best recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and history of the hotel itself.

The hosts were wonderful people, the property was very tastefully down with every room portraying its own unique story. The check-in process was seamless and the location was bang in the middle of the city. Strongly recommend spending some time at their Paris library which will make you travel back time!
unusual place with a mixture of terrain . The beach is quite something on a sunny day and well worth a visit along with the Portland Bill lighthouse where we were lucky enough to see a Seal . I would certainly recommend a visit which also has the benefit of Weymouth a 10-15 minute drive away. Local People we spoke to seemed genuinely funny and helpful.

Even though it has quite limited options of where to eat in the island, for climbers it is a lovely place to go. A lot of the beaches I know from there are pebbled one so bring suitable footwear so your feet do not hurt. This is the second time (always in Sep) I come to this part of Dorset, I discover something knew evert time.

We visited Portland to go on a Sailing trip on Moonfleet. Great experience and a fun day.
Restaurants were limited in the area. Salt is near the harbour but card only and expensive. The Cove Inn is beautiful, gorgeous setting to watch the sunset.
A trip to Portland Bill is a must whilst visiting, stunning views.
There are places of interest in Castletown with the D-Day museum and Castle just around the corner.

Scenic with lovely coastal views.
Scenic with lovely coastal views. If you like cliffs and walking or visiting lighthouses, it's great. We didn't get on to Chesil beach - couldnt quite work it out.
The cafe we found was really expensive!!

We were learning stone masonry so were very interested in the quarries and fossils. We ate our fish and chips from Ray’s at the lighthouse - what a lovely view. We ate at Les Enfant Terrible and Rockfish in Weymouth - the Crab shack was fully booked sadly.

Didnt know much about Portland before going but had an excellent long weekend there. Kids loved the pebble beaches and rocks to climb over and finding lots of fossils made their weekends. Lots of things to see and some good pubs and food options. Also very close to weymouth but glad we stayed in portland
The tastefully decorated and well-maintained house is centrally located near the top of the hill, so that walking tours are easily accomplished. Margaret was a super host, a mine of information with plenty of recommendations for local restaurants and a readiness to help whenever it was necessary, although not interfering in any way. Breakfast was very comprehensive and freshly prepared.
Great location as about 5 minute walk from the beach and you get some awesome views of the sunset from the main bedroom.
Really nice cottage with everything we needed for a long weekend and suitable for kids. Met the owner and he was very nice. Well looked after property and a great location for getting to see the rest of portland and surrounding areas. Would recommend
Great location exploring Portland and for us a good walk along the coast to Weymouth
Spacious and clean.
Well equipped kitchen
The top floors do slope slightly but this does not distract from its uniqueness
Parking is a bit tight to get into, but still able to park
A lovely walk to the pebbly beach and beautiful clear water to swim in
Friendly neighbourhood
Very clean property. Well decorated, and had everything we needed for a short stay near Chisel Beach. We wanted a location mid way from most of top 5 Dorset coastal locations to drive west, then east in a 2 night stay. Shops and a Boots pharmacy very close to the cottage which came in handy.
Location was fantastic and it was really lovely that I was upgraded to a sea view of Portland Bill with no extra charge! What lovely surprise. THe staff were all really friendly, especially the Chef. Always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. Well done team Admiralty!
Hotel was very clean and tidy, although clearly having renovations completed at the time. Parking isn't an issue, although there are only a few "free" spaces, the rest you pay for in a public car park next door. Breakfast was very good.
Mark & Jo was very polite and made me feel very welcome. The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was nice. Would love to stay on my future visits. Best property I have ever stayed in Weymouth/Portland in all the 15 years that I have been going.
Breakfast was better than expected. I thought it was continental, but there were cooked options so a bonus! I got lucky with the parking nearby, however not sure parking is very easy in the area. The Co-op and chippy nearby was handy!
Excellent location, in Charlestown. Chesil beach, weymouth and Portland lighthouse all easily accessible. Wharf very private. Own jetty for launching sup or kayak or swimming. Marina nearby. Plenty to do . Need a car though.
Great position right on the tip of Portland Bill. Perfect for strolling along the coast. You do need a car though.
Spacious room with good heating controls, new shower and recently decorated. Friendly host
The whole experience was superb. The rooms were clean and spacious ,the staff was friendly and helpful.the breakfast in the morning was lush with amazing views over Weymouth.100% go back to heights hotel.
The location was superb, loved the view over the sea and Portland Bill! Great access to walks and a nearby restaurant. The pub had a good selection of beers available.
