The location was so convenient to restaurants, the promenade along the lake and to the train station that I could not have been anymore satisfied with my choice of this hotel. I was shocked and quite thankful that we were given an upgraded room since the weather kept us in one day of our two night stay which allowed us to stretch out and relax. The breakfast that we added on our last morning before running to the train was well worth the it and we should have opted for it the other morning as well.
The Ibis Bregenz is ideally located next to the main train station, only a 5 minute walk from the center of the city, Lake Constance, the Bregenz Festival and the Festival Hall.
The family-run Hotel Schwärzler is a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Old Town of Bregenz, 1640 feet from the Weidach exit of the A14 motorway, and 1.2 mi from the Seebühne and the Bregenz Festival Area....

We went to Bregenz to visit the opera and we stayed for two nights. The opera was amazing. The lake was beautiful with opportunities for a boat trip or you could hire boats and pedaloes etc. Nice and not at all tacky. There were lots of nice cafes around the lake and a lake path that was nice for a promenade. The town was small and comprised local shops and cafes. It was pretty and close to the station. There was a cable car that gave stunning views. A very pretty and relaxing place to stay for a few days.

Bregenz was a pleasant surprise. Has lots to see and do.
Bregenz was a pleasant surprise. Has lots to see and do. Shopping and restaurant area is great to walk around. Lots of trees and seating.
Old town up the hill is beautiful , took lots of photos, the whole of Bregenz has some interesting architecture , both old and modern.
The lakeside area is set out really well. Boats come in out out taking you to lots of different sites on the lake into Germany and Switzerland. There is also good public transport to everywhere.
Bike tracks and walking tracks along lake set out really well.
Enjoyed sitting at sunset bar over the water.

Hotel is not worth the money.
Hotel is not worth the money. Broken shower, no air con, swimming pool is basically a cold puddle, only 1m deep and very small. The gym is also one machine. When we were checking out the receptionist tried to charge us €20 for a bill at the bar which we didn’t go to.. don’t choose this hotel and you’ll be happy :).

Surprisingly enjoyable town, not too large, can easily walk around and train station convenient.
The pier was a nice walk and a good spot to get an ice cream. Going up the Pfaenderbahn is a must, great views and a nice circular walk for burning off kids energy looking at alpine animals. We visited the Narrowest House in Europe (can just stand outside, so a quick sight), at Kirchstrasse 29.
We also took the train to Dornbirn for the morning, it was well worth the trip on a Saturday morning for their market in the town centre. (It starts to close up between 12 & 1pm,, so get there early). Great spot to grab lunch and a beer.

Beautiful town, right on the water, with many nice restaurants and a nice casino. The train looks like a fantastic option as well as the boats for getting around. My wife and I plan to come back for a nice adult weekend!

A must for enjoying a city with beautiful surroundings:...
A must for enjoying a city with beautiful surroundings: lakes, mountains. It has the most beautiful bike ride tour opportunities (Switzerland, Germany & Austria) and the most beautiful scenery with the city and the lake. Really charming.
We did not really book a tour there, we just rented city bikes and started riding to Germany, manage to go to Friedrichshafen and back.
You can stop as many times as you want and the weather was perfect, fresh but warm enough to dive into the lake :)
The Pfändernbahn was definitely a highlight. You can take the cable car but we didn't realise (until we were there and paid for our two way cable car ride) we could have hiked all the way up and down. :) So, once we were up there, we hike all the way down and once we were in the city, we hiked back up :) And then we took our already booked cable car ride to the city. Fun, really :) It takes around 4 hours if you hike at a normal speed (slow would be 5 hours or longer). But it's a one day adventure. I really enjoyed it and afterwards you can go to a restaurant and enjoy a few extra sweets ;)
Bregenz is lovely, charming and has character.
Great location that is within 5-minutes walk from Bregenz Hafen train station, which also has a supermarket next to it. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and you will be able to have a good rest. The hotel staff is very helpful to assist with your needs, such as storage of luggage and providing a map of the town. A complimentary bottled water and an electrical fan is provided in the room too. Breakfast is excellent with a very good selection. I love that they provide loose tea leaves for tea too!
The staff was extremely friendly and cooperative.
Breakfast was very good.
The beds comfortable.
We had to leave very early the last day, so they made us breakfast to go.
The location is perfect for traveling with train and going to the festival.
It was the second time we stayed in Hotel Central, and we will definitely come back.
There was an excellent communication, right from the beginning to the departure. We felt warmly welcome by the host and immediately at home. The neighbourhood is quiet, just a short walk to the lake and also easy access to Bregenz town centre. A very cosy place. We will certainly come again.
The hotel is in the center of Bregenz, Walking distance to the train station (approx. 7-10 minutes) and to the Harbor of Bodensee (approx. 7-10 minutes). The breakfast was OK. The staff was very friendly. The room was on the top floor and its size is OK for single traveler. The wifi was OK.
The pension is located in the pedestrian area, very close to all major attractions, including the Opera Festival.
It is run by a very nice, accommodating couple. Great communication skills, answered all our questions despite the fact that we speak different languages.
Very good located in the old city of Bregenz. Easy access with car and walk distance to the lakefront and the center of the town. Very good size of the room, cleam , good bed, view on mountain. A very good real 3 star hotel. Faire price!
Hotel Messmer is in a wonderful location. Our group selected the half board option and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. We were able to park our bicycles in the hotel garage, which was easily accessible.
Everything. The hotel has a real Scandinavian chic feel and the room and facilities have a high quality feel about them. Similarly the staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast is fantastic.
A lovely stay, with exactly what I needed- clean and private room. Little fridge to use, tea and coffee available. Friendly owner. I would stay there again if I come back. Bregenz is lovely.
