FAQs about hotels in Bruges

Picture Postcard Perfect

Bruges is a picture perfect medieval city that will charm you with its distinctive, century-old houses, plentiful canals and city walls. The famous 13th-century Belfry offers the opportunity to watch the cobbled market place, the Grote Markt, below while 47 bells call out to the city every 15-minutes. While you’re in the Grote Markt you can take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages around the city.

Many interesting artefacts can be found in the churches of Bruges, a Michelangelo statue is housed in the Church of Our Lady and the Basilica of the Holy Blood contains a vial of blood reportedly from Jesus Christ. Other museums include the Groeninge Museum which includes works of art spanning 6 centuries.

Belgium cuisine is famous worldwide and the cafes of Bruges offer an inviting retreat from the cooler climate. Brewery De Halve Maan explains the process behind the beer which washes down the world-class fries, chocolate and mussels found all over the city.

Bruges is easily reached from the Brussel-Zuid train station or the Brussels Airport. From a romantic suite to an apartment for a group of friends, Booking.com will make sure your stay in Bruges is a memorable one.

We have been to Bruges a number of times and always find something new to see. There are plenty of bars serving an excellent selection of good beers and wines and there is a variety of good restaurants. It is easy to get to by road or rail and is a good centre for cycling.

Lovely medieval city with loads of history.

Lovely medieval city with loads of history. If you like walking along narrow cobble stones streets, beautiful medieval buildings, canal walls, museums and Belgium chocolates, waffles and the variety of many delicious Belgium beers, its the place for you. Easy to walk around and navigate. The people are very friendly and helpful. It felt very safe too. Ideal for a city break. One suggestion if you do not want to be ripped off for the price of a beer and food is avoid the Market Square for eating and drinking. Over priced and low quality compared to the many other places minutes away down the side streets. We paid 11.50 euro for a 50cl beer and soon realized this was not the average price. Others nearby were charging anything from 6.50 euro to 7 euro on average and the food and service was better. I would also recommend the Legends of Bruges walking tour. Very informative and a great way to get to know the city.

Bruges was quite busy (very touristy) and this wasn't even the peak of the holiday season. It's an attractive city and therefore, understandably popular, but I found Ghent surprisingly more friendly. Bruges needs to get its act together and emulate Ghent's excellent Visitor Guide books (printed in the main European languages).

Very warm welcome, excellent B&B, short 5 minute walking distance from both parking garage (with electric car charger, which is always a challenge in Belgium!) and city centre. Best breakfast ever and great stories on some of the vintage finds om display. Room with luxere, big bath was very clean, coffee machine in the room, mini fridge with cold drinks in the hall. Can’t think of anything that would have improved the stay. They even have a happy little dog that greets you every morning as you come down 😊

Luc was a lovely B&B host who was very accommodating to our needs during our stay. The bed was SO comfortable. The bathroom with bathtub was large; as was the bedroom. The room and hotel were very clean. Located close to center, but on a quiet street of a canal. We did not hear any noise from the neighboring rooms or the street. Everything was just as described in the listing. Breakfast was good; everything you need to start the day. Would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Bruges

Everthing was Very good. The staff, perfect and very friendly. Rooms very comfy, and breakfast excellent. The building is old but very inviting for a City stop over, the lift is also old but it works. A 10 minute walk to the center and plenty of places to eat on the way. Parking is a short walk away in with reserved places for the hotel. All in all a great place to stay and no more expensive than other Bruges hotels. We loved it as did our little dog. This charming hotel in Bruges has the best breakfast that I can remember in a BnB style. Fresh from the market and so much variety. The location along the river canal was perfect for an easy after dinner walk that made me not so concerned about all of the Flemish stew and frites that I ate each night. I also felt more personal attention for a family of 4 than from any chain hotel, no comparison. I would highly recommend a stay and we are already planning our next visit.

A truly fabulous place to stay in Bruges. Tibo, the canal suite was absolutely perfect accommodation; spacious, comfortable and with everything we needed. The bath was also a bonus, as they become increasingly hard to find in hotels. Anna 9 is well located in a peaceful area on the canal but close to the old centre.
