Pho Temple

Home to the famous giant reclining Buddha, Wat Pho is one of the largest and most beautiful temples in Bangkok. You can spend a relaxing few hours wandering the grounds, sitting in the shade and snapping photographs. It’s also highly recommended to enjoy a medical massage at the school – it might hurt a bit, but afterwards you’ll be walking on air.

Get there early - depending where you are staying - catch river boat from central pier to wat Po. Visit the massage school and have an oil massage - great experience and I’ve had limited pain with an old injury since - well worth the visit.

    Awe inspiring.

Awe inspiring. If you only visit one temple in Bangkok, make it this one. The boat doesn't seem to stop there at the moment, so you need to go by road. Try visiting later in the day - the light is beautiful then.

Best to go here before the tour groups arrive at 10-10:30 am. The Temple opens at 8:00 am and we arrived a little before 10. It was not as crowded when we first arrived and we were able to take good pictures without having to jostle for space. Wat Pho is of walking distance to the Grand Palace so drop by there as well. Entrance Fee as of June 2019: 200 Baht

Look not only outside to incredible stupas, but all temples inside, seat in silence or in meditation, something nice will happened to you! Inside the monastery you can try a traditional Thai full body massage made by canonically trained doctors! Its great!

You should really go. get the BTS to saphan thakson station, take the water ferry and do not listen to anyone that tries to tell you 'its closed'. It isn't. Enjoy in my opinion the most impressive statue of Buddha in existence. Get a massage inside the temple. Take water ferry back and stop off at Wat Arun (temple of the sun) on the way back

Third time! I just love the atmosphere while walking around. It was also special since we made a photo of our girls, same position as 15 years ago. 2003 and then 2018! They had to pose exactly the same as on the photo from 2003. Lovely, only the girls are “bigger” 😂

This gem of a hotel is in the older section of Bangkok near restaurants and sites. It is only a couple of miles from the Grande Palace and Wat Pho. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The buffet breakfast was amazing.

We were a party of 7. One of us stayed in the mixed dorm while the rest were 3 to a room. The space was adequate for our luggage. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen was well stocked. What was really the bonus is the front desk. We had different travel needs each day and the front desk staff beautifully coordinated it for us! The main attractions, Wat Pho and Khao night market are a short cab ride away.
