Go and visit 'Bomba de Espana' in his bar on the square opposite the ground. Manolo is a great fella and has some interesting and historic photos and stuff in his bar. Also, get a paella at Cafe Candy on the corner opposite the ticket office.

Didn't meet the staff at all during our stay but they were very responsive to our questions. The check-in was self-service and very easy to do. The place is within walking distance from the Mestalla stadium, the old town and many other locations. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets around as well as different forms of public transport so you get get pretty much anywhere from the place.
