Sunset on the Rocks faces due North and this is the best aspect as far as the sun goes. The spectacular sea view stretches out east , north and west and we have fantastic views out to the horizon. Plenty of action to watch - ie ships going by , often seals , birds and also whales from about August. Plenty of our guests spend a lot of their time here - just sitting and gazing out to sea. Behind us - South - are the mountains - which we are actually situated on the slope of. We are 65m above the Atlantic and 200m back from the edge of it - looking out over the rocky sea edge Cleaning- we do a clean and change bedding and towels usually once in 4 days
Brian built and is the owner of this place . I am a friendly and happy person despite being pretty old now and I enjoy meeting our guests and making new friends. This is a very interesting property - set on a steep slope with outcrops of huge granite boulders - dated at 500 million years old !! We used the natural features . We think we also have the the best patch of natural vegetation existing in Llandudno - about 500m2 of never touched and original wild bush ( fynbos ) which is specialized in that its very tough and handles the salt laden air blowing off the sea and is not affected by draught and heat etc .
Llandudno is a little bay about 20min by car from Cape Town. It has a beautiful beach - although this is the Atlantic side - so the water tends to be cold. Its special , actually unique in RSA , as there is no commercial development here in Llandudno , ie no shops, flats , hotels - only houses . It is considered to be just about the prime suburb in the whole of SA - and the property prices have climbed over the years and seem to bear that out !! Its also very secure and safe - one reason being - there is only one access road here and plenty of security in the area.
