The peacefulness, the weather was absolutely fantastic.. the sound of the waves, hitting against the rocks.. it brings that calming effect over you.. the overall cleaniness of the lodge, everything inside was nicely organised, and available.. one don't have to phone around to asked for a specific item.. the braai area was spotless and it was well planned.. every apartment have their own braai area.. the garden was stunning, well look after.. last but not least the owner was wonderful, we were immediately at ease, very friendly, talkative and she go that extra mile.. for her guest.. for sure we definitely will return and that's a promise.,

Baviana Beach Lodge is an exclusive retreat overlooking the aquamarine waters of Jacobsbaai. It enjoys pride of place at the very heart of the bay and is an excellent combination of self-catering accommodation and guest house facilities. With its breathtaking views and situated on the seafront, it would be hard to imagine a finer setting. All apartments are stylishly furnished with private entrances, braai-areas, DSTV and on-site parking. Experience true West Coast hospitality, breathtaking sunsets, wild flowers in season and an amazing variety of seafood. The hosts of Baviana Beach Lodge are very proud that most of their guests are those visiting for the second or third time. The beautiful and quaint little village of Jacobsbaai is situated on the West Coast, just off the scenic R27, and lies about halfway between Saldanha and Vredenburg. It is roughly an hour and a half's drive away from Cape Town. Jacobsbaai is fast becoming a popular weekend getaway spot for Capetonians, owing to its close proximity to the Mother City. Although the main attraction is simply to relax - boating, fishing, diving, hiking and walking are also very popular.

Jacobsbaai is a nature lover's paradise. There is a 2km strip of beach and seafront and it is dotted with cosy bays and fascinating rocky outlets. As is the case with the entire West Coast and Namaqualand, Jacobsbaai bursts into colour each spring when the wild flowers bloom. It has been nicknamed "Namaqualand by the Sea" and it is easy to see why. The West Coast has a Mediterranean-type climate, which means that the summer days are long, warm and dry, while the winters are beautifully green. There is no need for travellers to look far for natural attractions, as there is an abundance of flora and fauna in the area including antelope species such as duiker and steenbok as well as a wide variety of bird life. Jacobsbaai is well situated for water sports enthusiasts. Nearby Saldanha Bay is a renowned windsurfing venue, as well as offering yachting from the harbour. The Langebaan Lagoon, in close proximity, is popular for water skiing, jet skiing and paragliding. Although Jacobsbaai doesn't have its own golf courses, travellers wishing to play a round can do so at three courses in about a 15km radius.
