Really cute space with a kitchen, utility closet (vacuum, iron, extra blankets), king bed (we were surprised and delighted). Clean and tidy with a binder full of things to know about the property and the area too which was great. The view of the local mountains was lovely and we caught them on a fun foggy day where the trees barely peeked out. Angela was amazing and super responsive to us. Check in and check out were easy. There's a cafe and a bakery within the same block and both were excellent! (This space is not ADA accessible, so keep that in mind if you have folks with wheelchairs or mobility needs).
Other than that, plenty of cute spots to eat and go out nearby and it's a short drive from Downtown Harper's ferry if you want to hike, peer at the water, or go tubing during the warmer season.

The host was very nice and made a great breakfast every morning. The area is quiet and the house is away from the tourist area of Harper's Ferry. The walk to where the historic area is a nice walk.

The location would have been ideal for visiting Harpers Ferry, but the road was closed that caused a 45-minute detour each way to visit Harpers Ferry & return to the motel. It would have been helpful to know that before booking.
The motel was very low-budget, not taken care of at all, will not stay there again.

The Hillside Hotel is really a rehabbed 1950s US HWY motel with exceptional views of the southern end of historic South Mountain. The rooms are spacious and clean and despite its rural location it is convenient to Frederick & Hagerstown, Maryland, Harper's Ferry, WVA & Dulles International Airport without any of the city traffic issues one would find in urban or suburban accommodations. The quietude of the place is exceptional.

The restaurant across From the Hillside Motel had great food...
The restaurant across From the Hillside Motel had great food, did need to wait :45 to get seated. Did not visit Knoxville, as I was visiting Harper's Ferry. Seemed like there were several buses for tubing the rivers.
The hotel is located in a great spot, the staff was very nice and helped us with everything we needed. We informed them that our flight was scheduled to land at 9:30 AM, and they managed to let us check into our room around 11:00 AM, which was very helpful for us. On our way back, our flight was at 10:00 PM, but we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, and they even had a toilet and a lounge where we could relax.
Hillside Hotel in Knoxville is a great place to stay! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean with all necessary amenities. The location is convenient, with easy access to downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee. The staff are friendly and accommodating, always willing to help. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended!
The hotel was really nice and great value for money, the staff was all really helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and quite well equipped just like a home from home, they were cleaned every day, and the beds were freshly made which was lovely to get in after a busy day. I highly recommend this to family and friends and everyone.
Nothing. I'm glad I had a roof over my head during my stay but, honestly, it wasn't a particularly good price for what you got. I knew it was a cheap hotel but I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. There were similarly priced hotels closer to harper's ferry/sheppardstown. To be far, it could have been much worse.
I had an amazing stay at the Hillside! The hotel's location was perfect for me as a backpacker, offering easy access to all the local attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay!
My stay at The Hillside Hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the local area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
We stayed in Hillside at knoxville about 2 years ago, nothing had changed from then to now, they maintain the property in very good condition. We were little hesitant to stay as new faces at desk but management takes note of every details, which makes this property safe.
I had an amazing stay at Hillside hotel! The lobby was beautifully decorated, the sleep was comfortable and peaceful, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience.
The location is near West Virginia, Virginia, and in Maryland. It is a short drive away from DC as well as going to the mountains in West Virginia. You are not too far from Shenandoah (50 mi). I crashed after coming from the Shenandoah
I enjoyed this hotel. It is an older motel style with two single story strings/buildings of rooms, wood floors, decent furniture, etc. that I found nostalgic. It was certainly an acceptable experience within its price range.
The staff is always friendly! This quaint hotel is nice for our yearly pilgrimage to the Blair Witch Experience. The movie had a scene filmed in the hotel! Location is great with many other things to do around !
The location is convenient to Harper’s Ferry and Weverton cliffs, and there is a great restaurant across the road from the hotel. The room was large enough for two people.
