I So appreciated the owner ordering a cab for me for the next morning! And also helped me get some Baht in exchange for my dollars! That’s above and beyond!

It was a good base to re-charge and explore the northern part of Samui. Besides the Big Buddha and the other temples, there is not much going around and you will definitely need to rent a scooter or else to move around.
A 5-minute drive from Samui Airport, P10 Samui offers modern duplex rooms with direct pool access. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi or arrange sightseeing trips at the tour desk.

Very close to the airport, 10 min by car, perfect for the first few days on the island or the last few prior to departure.
Next time i will stay the first 5 days here to get off the jetlag, and the last 2 day before heading out.
the ferry to koh phangan is, depending on the hotel, in walking distance.

More than a couple of nights here is enough as there is very little to do at nights. If you get a motorbike though it becomes one of the best places to stay as everywhere else is within an easy journey.
The hotel restaurants are generally better than the established burger/pizza/steak places. Not saying they're bad but there there are better available. There seem to be fewer local Thai eateries around than used to be the case however the ones that are there are pretty good. Discovered a lovely little cafe/restaurant that I thought at first was purely Vegan but caters for all tastes and the food is all healthy and stuff...not a bad thing after a night on the beverage of choice.
The other thing you should be aware of is that now cannabis has been legalised there are shops and "cafes" everywhere...even a very nice "up market" restaurant that has a full a la carte menu of cannabis infused food in addition to the standard menu items...interesting concept.
To sum up I do the bookends thing, couple of days at the start and end of the Samui trip as the airport is just around the corner...works for me

Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui but it's conveniently close to the airport and the Bangrak Beach Pier to take the ferry over to Koh Phangang. Therefore a good place to spend a night if your flight arrives/departs too late/early for the ferry to Koh Phangang.

Bangrak is a nice place.
Bangrak is a nice place. The beach is not the best around but you can walk on it. The Bangrak road us busy with traffic and people drive too fast on the approach to it. It’s quite dangerous road and you have to be careful when crossing. Thus also makes it not very peaceful or relaxing.

The best thing that comes in mind is that the location is close, by car, to some important sightseeing, such as Golden Buddha, the Grandmother and Grandfather Beach, the Fisherman Village (2 km, the latter), the Waterfall 2 park, as well as to some of the greatest restaurants on the island: Coco Tam (best beach setting and great food), Jungle Club (the best setting, and amazing view with high quality in food), Suppatra Dining (probably the best dining on the island) and Dr. Frogs (great view, but the food did not met our expectations). The Central Festival Shopping Mall is also close, as well as the airport of Samui, that looks like a cartoon (my favorite airport in the world now).
You can drive easily by luxurious van limo at very decent prices. We had the services of Mr. Tee recommended by the staff of our hotel, the Scent Hotel. He was decent, professional and very polite and he uses WhatsApp.
There are beaches that appeared to us very intimate, like the one from Scent Hotel, or simply gorgeous beaches like the ones between Lamai and Chaweng.
We stayed at So KohKoon for 1 night while waiting for the ferry to Koh Phangan. We stayed in the room right on the beach, and it was nice to wake up to high tide and beautiful water. The staff is super friendly, and our kids loved the talking parrot. The location is perfect for a quick walk to the ferry to Koh Phangan - it was only a 3 minute walk. We really appreciated that the hotel had water filters to fill up water bottles, which decreases single use plastics. It is a step towards sustainable tourism, and we appreciate this move.
Nothing ! Booked according to photos , nothing like the pictures. The area is not nice and the hotel is very old .
I worrying the night to a scuttling sound convinced it was in the room it was so loud ?
I was convinced it was a rodent then when I opened my curtains in the morning the view was shocking .
A deluxe double room , disgraceful !
Every window faced a damp wall and one corrugated iron with graffiti !
Would not reccomemd staying here !
Best bed of all hotels in my life. Proximity of beach. Warm Sea in November. Breakfeast servise wonderfool. Staff very friendly. Compare to other beaches ( f.e Chaweng) this place is quiet, much better to relax and swimm not so crowded.
The Secret Garden is in a lovely location right on the beach with fantastic views. It is a small boutique hotel which makes it more special and gives you a feeling of a home from home with a family touch.
Great prices for a resort hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Get a bungalow at the back or a room at the front. You can use all the facilities of the hotel. A pool by the sea.
Such a wonderful cozy hotel! Very comfortable, quiet and clean room. Nice little balcony with beautiful beach front view. Owner was kind and helpful beyond words! Highly recommend
Such a beautiful hotel. Staff were so lovely, welcoming and helpful at all times. Breakfast was delicious and fresh and the pool over looking the ocean amazing.
Very nice and clean place! Exceptional bed, very spacious.
