Visit San Marino was a dream plan for us.
We rent a car to rich San Marino from Florence. We had only one night reserved for San Marino. This place is unique. I plan to come back one day to stay longer and enjoy the beauty of this place.

San Marino itself is an amazing place to visit.
San Marino itself is an amazing place to visit. All the historical buildings, steep winding streets of vendors continuing for ages until you reach the top castle embattlements. And you can pick another route down passing more vendors along the way, everything from high end fashion and jewelry to weapons shops. As an Australian, I was shocked that all these guns, knives, machetes, flick knives, spears, high powered bows, arrows, sling shots, crossbows etc. were for open sale. Our laws prevent such sale of deadly weapons but each to their own.

Walking up Mount Titan and visiting the towers was great - a nice escape into a wooded area on a hot day. The old historic centre was lovely, and there appeared to be a couple of good restaurants up there. But otherwise, once you leave the historic centre, but are still up on the hill, it was difficult to find a decent restaurant for dinner that served more than just burgers or sandwiches. I would suggest that San Marino is nice to visit for a couple of hours, explore the historic centre, maybe do some tax-free shopping, but it doesn't require an overnight stay.

San Marino, the capitol and old town of the San Marino...
San Marino, the capitol and old town of the San Marino republic, located on the top of Monte Titano, is a fantastic and tremendously scenic place. In my opinion there are many beautiful and interesting things to see and learn more about just walking around in the old town and visiting the three towers. In addition to the wonderful scenery and the historical sensation, there are numerous museums, shops or restaurants to visit. definitely quite a nice place to go for a short stay.
The only thing I didn't appreciate that much and that I found didn't really fit in this specific environment was the commercial approach with plenty of shops and stalls trying to sell various gadgets and thingies. But ok, everything can't be completely genuine and all that perfect.

After the crowdedness of other European cities San Marino...
After the crowdedness of other European cities San Marino was a haven. This is probably because there is no airport or train station and you really need a car to get there. The mountain and old town are Unesco heritage protected and the views are stunning. We loved visiting the three towers and the Public Palace. Unique boutiques with quality products ( shopping is tax free) and there are some great buys to be had particularly Italian leather bags and jewellery. A picturesque and charming place.
La Grotta is situated in the old city center and is very close to many restaurants, little shops, museums and main monuments. The hotel by itself is super clean, the rooms are as well, with all the needed supplies. Breakfast was so tasty, with many juice and food options, including the gluten free section.
The hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful, giving you all the needed informations about San Marino.
I have to say I was lucky to stay here with my first holiday in San Marino. A lovely place I recommend!
24 hour check in with friendly helpful staff. The location and the views were outstanding. Our rooms were very comfortable and we had the added bonus of a restaurant on site so we didn't have to brave the cold winter night for dinner as well as a very reasonably priced breakfast option. Hotel Joli was literally at the foot of San Marino old town. The reviews cannot do the hotel or the location justice - it's something you just have to experience for yourself to truly appreciate!
Excellent location within the old town walls. Parking P6 is located just a few steps away from the hotel entrance.
With the special ticket offered by the hotel you only pay €4/day for parking. Good breakfast included.
They let us do a late check-out so we could see some other points of interest in the morning.
They also provided us with the "Tutto San Marino" card, for a discount in some of the local attractions.
Good location, about a 7-minute walk from the funicular. The property has its own (small) parking space. The rest of the public parking in front of the hotel is only for 1 hour (as in many places in San Marino). The staff is friendly. Due to heavy traffic, we arrived past the check-in time, but the manager was waiting for us, ready to give us the keys to the room and assist with parking.
This hotel is located perfectly near the summit of old San Marino with gorgeous views and very close to the castles and all shops/restaurants. The rooms were well-appointed, spacious, modern yet charming, and had the amenities we needed. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was tasty, and the old world feels of the place was incredible. I'd stay here again without hesitation!
The hotel is perfectly located for a short visit to San Marino.
Public parking nr.6 is just a one minute walk away.
The staff at the reception was the friendliest and most helpful I’ve had in a hotel in a long time. She even called restaurants for me to make dinner reservations. I’d definitely stay here again.
What we liked most was fantastic view from the hotel room. The room itself was spacious and clean. Internet connection was strong and breakfast was good and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel to all people who plan to visit San Marino.
Guy who checked us in was very informative, spoke English well. Good place to stop in for evening to check out nearby San Marino Castles. 11 min drive to castles. Parking was easy and free. Lots of trails to run/hike you can get to by walking from hotel.
Very nice hotel with ample facilities in the room (air conditioner, fridge). Very nice staff and enjoyable breakfast. Ample parking. Used our own car for the short drive up to San Marino centro storico where ample car parking (paid) is available.
Good breakfast. Nice room. Nice location, although you need bus or car to visit San Marino. Nice personell. Rooms on the road side could be noisy - a lot of traffic in the morning. Good internet. We stay in this hotel for the second time.
Absolutely delightful B&B in the heart of old San Marino! It provided the perfect ambience for our visit, with spacious antique rooms and furnishings. The hostess even brought by delicious continental breakfast offerings in the morning!
A true “home from home” experience in a beautiful property. It is in a perfect location to explore the city of San Marino. The breakfast was better than a 5* hotel would offer and the room we stayed in (with the balcony) was perfect.
The hotel has a great location and totally covers the idea of historicity in San Marino. It is located in the heart of the old town. Great breakfast. Welcoming staff. Hotel offers covered parking which is a great advantage.
The hotel is a short walk from everything you would want in San Marino. The hotel's restaurant had the best food I had on my entire 2 week trip. The views from the hotel are amazing. Hotel does have parking if you need it.
Everything is perfect. Highly recommend if you want to live in San Marino. The location is in central, the staff are nice, the view is beautiful, and the service is really good. We really enjoyed our stay.
Breakfast consisted of hot foods as well as continental options. The pool was a nice size and the recreation area was clean. The hotel was very pet friendly in all areas.
The hotel has very nice location right under the fortress of San Marino. Also the room is big enough with very nice bathroom. everything was very clean.
This hotel was located in the heart of the old town of San Marino. It was a great location with friendly staff, a nice breakfast and comfortable rooms.
