Woodpecker Yurt is nestled in, and overlooks the beautiful Douro Valley. On its own site, approximately 15 mtr X 50 mtr . Woodpecker Yurt has 1 db, and 2 metal, foldable guest beds . Internal kitchen, hot and cold running water. table top oven, 2 gas rings. Log burner. vaccination certificates required by law, ( over 12’s ) Covid rules apply. Self check in at the yurt. Safe and clean. No wandering off yurt site due to pandemic. Please place all linen in bags provided at the end of your stay..thank you for you’re cooperation! :-) Acrylic dome to watch the stars through! Outside,there is a wet room: shower, toilet, basin. H/C running water. July onwards dipping pool. Woodpecker yurt is accessed from the N108.. Then up a cobbled road, about 400 meters on the right. ( not visible from the road ). We are a small working farm of 2 hectors. We have fruit trees, flowers. Stunning views. Tranquil. Children to be supervised at ALL times. Please let us know at the time of booking, anyone under the age of 18. Access by route given only. Parking space. No parking at yurt. We are a working farm, and all access on the property is at your own risk.
No bookings within 48 hours, please request. Paul and I have a peaceful life, but never dull! We have 3 dogs, cats a few goats and a donkey. Paul enjoys working the land, while I tend the garden. We are always happy to help, so please ask! Our aim is for you to enjoy Woodpecker Yurt, its surroundings and all Northern Portugal has to offer!
Take the train ( just 5 mins drive away ) along the Douro. Boat trips from Regua or Pinhao. Wine and port wine tasting! Fishing, river beaches, bird watching and much more all within a short drive. There are 2 water parks in Amarante and Vila Real. Amarante also boasts it own golf course. The closet shops are about 5 km away- excellant Cafe, butchers, pharmacy and mini mart. There are two restaurants/cafes/ tapas within 1 km, all excellent! Special occasions, Tormes restaurant, less than Km away. There are many fiestas throughout Portugal, many religious, lasting for several days - colourful lights, music and fireworks! If you love doughnuts you will have to try a fatura - sweet doughnut mixture, deep fried. PLEASE PRINT AND FOLLOW all instructions. We only speak English. :-)
